Revealed: the new Ferrari Portofino

At least from the side and the 3/4 rear view, it's starting to look a little less like a Lexus SC430.

Those 2 cars look so similar they may as well be the same

I have an F40 so I can tell there is something wrong with the top one but for the most part they look pretty similar yes

 

the top one is not real and likely based on a donor with a shorter wheel base. maybe 355

 

Still gotta fit those golf bags back there...

 

It's the same car, just photoshopped with a higher beltline.

 

My response is if you have to tell me there is a difference, and it's not obvious, why did you bother?
My philosophy is 'do it like you meant it.........or don't do it at all'
Something that subtle is lost on 99% of the general public, and if I have to sit and stare at it, you've defeated the purpose IMO.

You missed the point of the pictures.

 

I find it kind of frustrating how they chose to put the rear parts in plastic like they did on the 812. The plastic looks cheap, so they obviously did it so people would spec it in carbon to get the extra revenue. IMO, I honestly don't think that the Cali T or the Portofino are cars to spec with lots of carbon.

I just got what he is saying. Look at the two photos above of the Portofino and you can tell that the same thing is going on in those as is in the F40 shots, even though its photoshop.

The discussion evolved into our opinions of the new design...
To me, the new Portofino looks too chunky to my eye... I'd like it to be sleeker, sexier and more streamlined, as in the lower photoshopped version. Seems subtle differences look the same to some. For example, I sometime find it fascinating the people don't see the difference between my series 1 Jag E-type and a series 3... it's all in the eye.

I think you will find Mcinimo is a master with photoshop or similar......

Take a close look and read what he wrote.

He photoshopped them to show that a small change in the design by lowering the belt line fundamentally changes the look of the car..

He then did the opposite to the F40.

Another flop....after the 812, it's the second one...doesn't look good for Ferrari...

 

looks better but defeats the point of why myself and many others bought a California. Trust me, not many bought it for its looks.

 

as far as sales i would put money it becomes their top seller...as was the california
