He doesn't know - He's wishing and hoping (like us all) that Ferrari will see sense and do the right thing!

I doubt they would ever do a Ferrari Pisa , since inherently it would have serious handling issues as it would be leaning on one side !!!!! Hahahaha
This is the BEST idea ever... A Ferrari Portofino V12 would make the BEST car ever !!! Cabrio and V12 and rear seats !!! Wow A plain V8 turbocharged Portofino for some reason doesn't excite me at all... I am much more excited about the mid-engined 488 V8 turbocharged combination... So if the Portofino was V12 it would have CHARACTER which , in my opinion , is currently lacking..
Car looks great in the real world pics. Although the first picture the front resembles the 2018 granturismo from afar
Ferrari is getting to point where cars are so good there is almost no need to upgrade to next model. 458 was so good its almost crazy to spend another $150 for the trade to 488. new Portofino seems terrific but is it going to be worth the upgrade over the cali t as a gran turismo cruising convertible?
Obviously,I don't. I would like it to happen so have thought of reasons why it might. 1. Sergio made a big fuss about this car but at present just seems like a replacement for current Cali t so I figure there must be more to come. 2.It is the new platform so I guess it can accommodate a V12 (think V12 Vantage). 3.It is more sporty so I guess can be tweaked to take more power. 4.There were a lot of rumours about it being a 2 seater. These might be correct if it had a bigger engine in the front. Alternative is to drop V6 from Alfa Giulia Quadrifoglio into it and call it a Dino.I can still see Dino name being used so that Ferrari can limit production to 10,000 Ferraris but as many Dinos as the market will take.
It seems the Portofino chassis is based on the new modular platform, on which all new models will be built (front/mid and rear/mid V6/V8/V12 and hybrid engine cars, stiffer, lighter, cheaper). But the entry model Portofino will never come with a V12 engine, definitely never.
I was confused as to why they would reveal the car online without any notice. There has to be something more coming for the people who were invited to Portofino for the reveal.
Absolutely sir.....for those such as myself, this is the convertible hooded car we have been waiting for.....the Cali/T were just "blah" and rear seats were useless unless you are either a midget or 1.4 years old and even then the front pax must move their seat forward.
Hard to say anything about the sheet metal until seeing the car in person. But, based on the photos alone it looks like evolutionary tweaks. I'm both happy and disappointed. Thought we might see a new model in looks and it's not. Happy because I own a T and I really like having a GT looking like the T. I love it and am very happy with it. I won't be rushing to my dealer to place an order for the new car.
I agree,I was at my dealers yesterday when image came through. They are taking clients to Portofino and could not believe the car had been revealed in advance.
Like they will never do an SUV !!As I said think V12 Vantage. I do,however, see your logic and tend to agree which is one of the reasons I can see the back seats disappearing to differentiate it.
They will also present the car to those of us attending maranello as part of the 70th rally commencing on the 7th Sept in CH and arriving Maranello on 9th Sept
