Good for them! Now bring the V6 Exige here lol.

What I find odd is that while a bunch of car manufacturers went towards smaller engines, a company known for small engines went for bigger engines (i.e. straight 4 to V6 on the Exige).

I bought an Evora 400 (love it) and yes I agree it is good new though I still think Lotus has a very long way to go before they can claim any kind of turn around at least in this country. I know exactly what I'd do if I were in charge of bringing this company back, I'd be glad to share it with them, all they have to do is ask.

yep my v6 exige drinks fuel at close on twice the rate as my NA elise. 360 vs 190hp. Lotus though has always been about light weight regardless of the power. The Evora is imo not really quite light enough/ teh toyota V6 is also a bit heavy for what it is. But then lotus didnt havethe cash to do better.

Those two compromises will be corrected on future models. I hear a 450ish hp volovo turbosupercharged 4 for the elige range around 2200lbs, and a new esprit on shortened evora platform with the bespoke v8 developed under Bahar.

450 hp for a 2200 lb car is nuts. They've been talking about the Esprit for quite sometime. Hopefully it comes to fruition.

Who knows by the time it comes here, and with fluids maybe it will be 2350 lbs, still nuts though. Current exige cup R is 2350lbs and 380hp, so not such a huge leap.

Either way if lotus wants to stay in the game, it needs cars that can tangle with others, thats what it takers.

The esprit chassis wise is relatively easy as they have the evora tub and suspension already, its a function of making it shorter and then different styling. The motor is the bigger question here. Toyota wont sell its best stuff to lotus, and these days Lotus is also part of Volvo geely.
Fortunatly they have an in house developed engine. Its just a question of how big that development check will be from geely.

Given how band and limp pretty much evrey other exotic is to drive on road, and how sub par they are on track, Lotus has a real opportunity here. Only porche with the GT3 and gt4 are real competitors performance/drive wise.
