    For those interested, a 2000 mile M sold for $478.5k inc premium at Gooding Monterey this weekend. 370k GBP, 405k euros. Low miles, one of the 75 US cars, but seems like not much history at all. A strong result, all things considered, for the seller.

    Perhaps from your Schopenhaeuerian perspective, bad fortune Mel! But certainly, it will be seen as a sign of the market's rebounding strength for these cars, as a sale price reference.

    That M was a multiple Platinum wining car in as-new condition with ultra low mileage. At one time it was marketed for $900K. 95% of M's won't come close to that car's preserved condition.

    Yes, it's a fantastic show pony, but means very little for the rest of the so called modern classics market which, at least here in Europe, is sagging.


    Mel - don't know about you, but I had to look that one up to realise it was a put down! :D ;)

    I would never put down the gentleman who sold me my F512M media book. But there are bulls and bears and Mel is definitely one of them.

    As to sale, all accounts suggest it was a good car and one of the 75; still, it sold, and it's a price. There are and have been better Ms out there which haven't. A rather beautiful one with lower miles in the UAE, and a Fchatter's own, sold weaker at auction last year. Asking 900k for that car was a pipe dream, selling for 480k is a price reference for an excellent but by no means unique example, albeit one of the 75.

    that car was very nice but still very good price I was surprised did not expect that number ....

    I purchased both cars, the US Car was in much better condition than the car at RM in London. Both cars similar miles 2k.

    Tom the M you bought is as good as they get. I had mine judged next to the car you bought at Cavallino a couple years ago and it was as-new.

    Congratulations. Another amazing Ferrari for your stable. And unlike the RM Japan M, you can drive this one straight away, rather than wait 3 more years.

    I'd be fascinated by your views on the M compared to some of your other cars.

    It is a special car, the F512M. I came back from vacation last week to find a GT3 RS waiting for me at home, a media loan for a week for a drive story. It's parked next to my M, and today, parking the RS, I cast a longing glance at the M, as that's the car I'd really like to be taking out this weekend, one of the last of the summer here.

    512M is one of my favorites in my collection, nothing like a 12cyl 5 speed! GT3 RS is a great car but hard to beet the looks of a 512M.
    You are right i have to wait until 2020 to import the Rm Car to the US without having to do DOT EPA. Next time you are in Mia let me know.
