If you think today was exciting you have never watched F1 pre-2010. English football is pretty boring. I prefer Serie A
Vettel did not even go to spray initially... he hit the bottle straightaway. Drowning his sorrows LOL
I've seen back thru the '80s. Today was well worth my time. I don't understand why people who always cry about F1 being so boring bother to watch or post here....
Hahaha...Toto telling the Force India drivers are stupid for driving into each other...remember the last 3 years??? This guy is getting better and better the more often I see him in TV
Oh dear! - UK Channel 4 coverage are declaring that Lewis drove today: "like nobody else can!" Hamilton managed to just stay ahead of Seb, in a car that was superior on this track. Seb showed today that he can drive exactly the same way as Hamilton does, and got a result out of the Ferrari that many didn't think was possible on this track. (I'll bet most people before the weekend started had this race down as a guaranteed Mercedes 1~2! )
At the same time Lauda said it was a superb move of Lewis staying in front on the straight by just putting pedal to the metal and keeping his line...Wow, heroic move Lewis did what he had to do, made no mistake (just like Seb) and won thanks to having a power advantage at his pole lap and on the straight. Let them change seats and I am sure Seb would have won in front of Lewis in exactly the same way. There is not much between the drivers but obviously something in between the cars!
Perez says he was in the wrong mode for the first incident and he didnt see ocon Then says Ocon was too agressive in the second one and it was not his fault !
It did seem as though he was trying to make the Dutch fans his own by claiming they were Irish fans! (To be fair, I think the Dutch fans were very happy to see Hamilton beat Vettel - The Dutch have long memories, and they want their bicycles back! )
There's a very strong hatred for all things Ferrari currently in the Netherlands, courtesy of the terrible, terrible media who can't even translate the simplest things of English and the couple of run ins Ferrari and Verstappen have had last 2 seasons.
Max was asked how many more DNF goes it take to make him think about where he drives in the future? 'Not too many' he said. He said it is not acceptable anymore...its not just bad luck.
+1 In My (obviously biased opinion!), Seb actually drove better than lewis today because he couldn't fall back on a car advantage to make the difference, he had to push his Ferrari to it's absolute limit (and possibly slightly beyond), to match Lewis and keep him under pressure, and that's why Channel 4's declaration that Hamilton: "Drove today like no one else can!" is niggling Me right now! Both Hamilton and Seb were in a class of their own today, and out of the two of them, due to having a slight car deficit to over come, Seb edged out Hamilton for Me! (not a popular view amongst the general fans, I know! )
The Dutch have a quite passionate dislike of the Germans anyway, regardless of how nice individual Germans such as Seb can be! - As I say: They have looooong memories!
Kimi on ultras managed to get past Bottas on the softs somehow, after the safety car.. Vettel kind of messed up the restart after the safety car,i think.
IIRC it was because of a mistake by Bottas at the restart. BTW: pretty weak performance by Bottas all weekend.
Exactly. I cannot see what the tifosi I have to complain about. There was a good fight and Vettel still leads. Also, had Kimi respected the yellow flag there would have been 2 Ferrari drivers on the podium.
