Ich wurde geboren in New York; und so endet mein deutsch

my mother and father spoke flawless German. But I was a boy during the War and German was not a good thing. So my brother and I heard German only when Mother and Father wished to say what they did not wish us to understand! :-(

Beautiful weather this weekend, so Saturday we drove to Williamstown, Massachusetts, to visit the Clark Museum's special Picasso exhibition. very impressive, though to my taste less so than the old masters collection and the Renoir Collection, said to one of the two finest and largest gatherings of Renoirs in the world. The Museum itself is a work of art.

Then Sunday a Vermont mountain drive to the Dorset Inn for lunch. Decided to lunch in the bar with barkeep Patrick Noonan pouring the best Bombay Sapphire martinis in Vermont - no vermouth, cocktail onions on the side. When who walks in but a couple, good friends of my wife, so we drink and lunch together. Eric is a car guy so took him for a ride. The photo is behind the Inn. Then on way home, picked up some farm-fresh corn and tomatoes for a quiet supper on the back deck, watching the sun set and pondering yesterday's total solar eclipse.

'Bout time the Maranello got a bit of exercise, two days, 324 miles - 21.9 gals ethanol-free 91 octane = 14.8 mpg, really excellent considering the roads and two very long and sharp descents in 3d gear to slow the car. Only one safe opportunity to run a bit, a long straight stretch of two-lane road bordered both sides by cornfields with no access roads entering on either side, hard throttle to 125 mph. What splendid cars are these Maranellos!

Cool story. I like the look of you 575 a lot. It must be a pain in the US when not being able to stretch the car out on the Interstate. These cars (550/575) can really hold modern sportscars even today. Had a blast with a 991 GT3RS in Germany. He had 7 or 8 gears snd PDK so was very fast, but at 180 mph., the horsepower is the main thing. So it performance was the same. You should contact the local sherrif and ask him to close the highway for trucks and cars one day every year and let the fun begin!! 😃😃😃

If you like Renoir, You might also like the Barnes Foundation Museum in Philadelphia. You'll have to buy tickets at least two days beforehand but it's worth it.

    Thanks Daniel!

I guess you would have enjoyed our trip since we did not only do some very nice roads in Allgäu, but also visited a private car collection of a friend of mine who has more than 80 cars.

Hope to meet you again sometime

    Markus

That is a great picture, Armen. Does the car have a full black interior? And is the color Grigio Titanio? It surely is a good looking beast...

Yep, exactly! It has a full black interior and is Grigio Titanio on the outside. This is a 2003 mGT with only 12k kms on odometer)

    Thank you, Eric!

Looks just like mine including the NF2's (see page 154,#3070). I just replaced tires and could not find 355's so I had to go with 345's from Michelin. If you have aged tires you may want to consider replacing. Just saying.

I'm in Stockholm and spotted a TDF 456M in the old city, sorry I wasn't quick enough with the camera.
And Titano Gridgio F12 in the street below my Hotel room.
