I can emphasize ( topical at the moment) with how long big projects take. I have a 11 year one lurking in the garage.
You have one advantage you live in Qld compliance is much easier there.

Not insurmountable with cheque book supported by a decent bank balance. and that's just for the engineer.
Some main points are, the pollution reg, Engine to be at Euro5 , Chassis stiffness test which from memory is 6,000NM/degree
Brakes have to be a tried and approved combination 5 page document explains it. If you want something out side that, the requirements was to be tested on a Race circuit at your expense and 3 stops from 160Ks.

My understanding is that ABS is now required in NSW.

Not sure for ICVs but for all manufacturers it and stability control are mandatory.
Except Morgan 3Wheelers and hopefully all Morgans and Caterham's

Are you going to use it, or just wrap it up in its little horsey cloth bag and store it in a strong room? BTW, I would have thought the 575 boot holds more than that!

It'll get very occasional use. The boot is wide but pretty short. The two cases go in the boot, the suit bag gets strapped in on the rear shelf
