Yes maybe that is what all those silly experts who drive for a living (and are paid for their expertise) are doing ;-)

GT really looks amazing on the 812, especially with dark wheels.

Be careful though all we see are detailed cars and Meridien have an FF in GT and it looks very plain, it needs accessorising for sure.

    Nice for free though.

What sort of exterior trim items do
    You suggest.

Most owners will order the shields.

I think all the rims look fine.

So on to the brake calipers. Standard or yellow or red?

Carbon fiber grill and exhaust surrounds?

    Pinstripes or race stripe?

I'd like to see a photoshop pinstripe car

GT really looks like a winning color for the car. Though I don't love the more blueish hue it can take on in some light. I would have to give it more consideration.

@MalibuGuy- I think the answers are dependent on your color choices inside and out.

Right now I would probably order GT outside, black dash, black steering wheel, either beige or cuoio leather maybe grigio chiaro stitch or non contrasting stitch. Probably shields. No CF but RPM steering wheel in leather. No CF outside. Silver wheels. Black calipers. And black rev counter. Maybe either one of the tans or the chiaro for the accents inside but I would make sure to keep the dash stripes in black as to de-emphasize them. And no stripes or pin stripes on the outside.

Of course, if my dream of speccing the car in Maranello ends up happening, then you could probably take this straight forward spec as a mental starting place...

I don't know whom you are referring to exactly, but often people think that heft is feeling. Feeeling is the feedback (i.e. the traction limit or surface quality) and that can be transmitted either through a heavy or a light rack. Most racing drivers prefer a lighter set-up as it makes their lives easier, as long as it isn't to the point that there is not enough resistance to counter unwanted movements.

Interesting how some of these frontal shots make the car look so modest in comparison to the sheer aggression of the Tdf.

I've said since day 1 that the 812 needs a very dark color to hide all the creases and vents which I think (or perhaps thought) is a bit OTT. But seeing all these GT pics has made me do not a complete 180 but it has definitely changed my mind about it.. It looks simply amazing in GT and it is now by far my favorite color for the car.
Maybe I'll end up loving this thing after all.. :)

Tim in my modest opinion and without trying to be disrespectful to anyone here, I think the 812 isn't a "Hybrid" of the F12B and the F12 TDF but a redesign of the F12B. Ferrari used newer design concepts on the 812 which give the car it's own personality.

I wonder if changing the body colored concave curved trim (inner parts beside the headlights) to carbon would be effective to change the look of the front end? Sort of like how the covers fill the space in a balanced way on top of the 360 headlights...

I agree. Its a nice picture and the Blu TDF looks good on the car- but I don't think its my favorite, I think the car needs something more in the silver/ grey area because of all the surface changes. My issue with the spec is really not the red calipers- its the black wheels. I would choose silver wheels.

Ferrari calipers whether yellow or red, don't match--the red doesn't match most of the red exterior paint colors and the yellow doesn't match the shields or most exterior yellow paint either.

That's just part of the Ferrari tradition which has been the case even when PF was in charge

Caliper paint (amongst others) is homologated for technical reasons.

    Thank you for the insight

Perhaps this explains the tach red and yellow colors which also don't quite match the color palette of leather, stitching etc
