Mercedes changed a lot since Ross is gone...I do not know whether one could say that Rosberg was a clear No.2 on the paper but he certainly was in the mind of Toto. As said back then: Rosberg was not intended to lead the team in the Schumacher days and then Mercedes replaced Schumacher with Hamilton with the intention of him leading the team. It took Rosberg way to long to have enough self confidence to "demand" his chance on the WDC. Hamilton always got away with much more than Rosberg did... Just remember Monaco: Rosberg was slow and told to give way to Lewis and although it was clear that Lewis would be his only contender for the WDC he did...does anybody really think Lewis would have done the same??? They would have asked him, he would have denied and afterwards Toto would have given a press release that it was not correct to ask him for that...Happened more than once!
(A) Regarding Irvine and Salo...I wouldn't use them as measuring sticks (Get it? 'Synonomous with lightning rods?) "(btw, who're Irvine or Salo? They're supposed to be lightning rods?)" It's called sarcasm. 'Tough one for you, eh Sheldon? (B) You know how it is....once an arase, usually always an arse. Me? When I don't care for someone, I ignore them. I especially don't address one's writing style when I don't understand it....'wouldn't want to make a fool of myself by misinterpreting them...it's good advice... But, have a nice day. Relax and enjoy LM.
Lewis Hamilton opens door to F1 retirement despite enjoying 'awesome' 2017 competition | F1 News Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!! No loss LOL
Absolutely. Please close the door on your way out! Heck no need to bother Elton, I'll close it for you, just go. Pete
I don't expect him to quit unexpectedly leaving his team in deep pooh..like ''the vicious one'' managed to do. Nico Rosberg laughs off claim he was 'the vicious one' in Lewis Hamilton aggravation | F1 News
Funnily enough Toto's claim goes against everything I've heard from people that work there or with Elton, lol
Is there still anybody around that does think Toto is/was unbiased??? It was not Nico running off his team mates multiple times at the beginning of their WDC-chase...

Yeah, best news I've heard all year, dumdum wants to retire, that's cos bottles has his measure, and the Mercedes isn't the dominant car it was, hence, he is getting beaten as he's just a slightly above average driver. Go on son, **** off asap, you won't be missed
Just bumpin´ this to avoid the pollution in the GP and season threads. In case you forgot this thread already existed.
The thread has got bumped, and so I read this little gem.... You can thank your lucky stars that everything I wish for will never come true.
Just wait a bit longer, Elton as been lucky but if (as i suspect) the enxt races can even the Ferrari and the Merc, Seb will whipe the floor with squirrel boy...
Hamilton agrees to test on Thursday Lewis Hamilton has agreed to help Pirelli with tyre testing later this week. The triple world championship openly admits to disliking track testing, and often pulls out of scheduled sessions with injury or illness. But after winning his second race on the trot last weekend and taking over the championship lead from Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel, Hamilton has now leapt at the chance to test at Paul Ricard. Hamilton agrees to test on Thursday I'm just putting this out there is all. Not a fan of the guy outside the track but I do have respect for him inside the track and his achievements given said formula/era of F1.
Probably mus be a fashion show somewhere nearby for him and bieber to visit afterwards hehe. Bit late to worry too much now, he needed to be at those before the year started like Seb, that's why Mercedes were struggling tyres wise for so long. They understand them now, so horse door bolted springs to mind
Yes here's an interesting point. The new MB has a longer wheel base and I think that has suited Hams a great deal. He used to lock his brakes every weekend, flat spot his tires, and then complain about vibrations. The longer wheels base car doesn't not dive as much on braking so he gets away with his hard, late braking style. This also suits the long sweeper tracks and the power of the PU is just better than Ferrari still. But the chassis and aero of the SF are quite good and will be more competitive in the twisty circuits like Singapore, even without the mini chicane in the middle anymore. I wonder if SF can do something about the down force to relieve some drag because I think that has hurt them on the power circuits like Spa and Monza. We didn't see anything at Monza. Also the oil burning is a gimme too. Nothing like extra calories to make you faster. But then reliability could be an issue for MB, especially since many other teams retired "strategically." We can hope. It has happened in the past to the "invincible" MB.
I hope you are right John, but could be a false dawn even if we do well in Singapore and Malaysia, we need more from the car! Forza Ferrari
