This new format sucks

This is the same response people gave when Ferrari went turbo (again)..... I personally don't think it is that bad...give it sometimes, guys. Plus, nothing wrong with ad... the website needs to be self-sustainable.

 

LOL Holy Mackrel. You're getting your money's worth now!! It's the first ad I've seen that doesn't fit in an 18" desktop monitor!

Like many, I use TT as well for all Forums. So, it's a change, innit?

Those who are actually dealing with site must deal with pertinent issues for all manner of screen sizes, OS, etc. including mobile before focusing on TapaTalk itself.

We're all Beta Testers here.

Goal is to have stable, supported software that enhances Member's experiences. Not some evil incarnate plan to ruin people's lives. So, just as you reported the Problem, that makes you part of the Solution.

^^ This is spot on. This is my second time logged on today because I couldn't believe my first impression and had to try again. I use the iPad a lot and find this format all around poor, not to mention the slooooowwwwww speed probably due to ad data, redirects, and proxies. As an engineering exec who's staff includes a UI / UX team, I'll bet the abandonment rates will go way up. Flipping through pages is slow and cumbersome, with way too much white space.....and sorry to sound so negative but I don't buy the statements that people don't like it's because it new.

 

Don't particularly like the new format and will be interested to see how/if it evolves. It would be good if we could remove the blank right hand column as an option. Shrinking the window size so it moves down to the bottom doesn't happen until the window is quite small - so not really a practical option.

 

The FerrariChat Forum is now much more modern than the McLarenLife Forum. At least one generation ahead.

Having been involved with and running online communities for the past 15 years, and having done website changes numerous times, the responses here are typical of what we have seen. At first everyone hates the new format. They threaten to leave, not participate and raise all kinds of ruckus. In a few weeks, everyone forgets the old format and the new format becomes the norm.

As a practical joke once, we took our website and on April 1st, put up the home page of our site a few generations ago. Guess what- people hated the "new format". Said they would leave- not participate.

So everyone chill. What is new will soon feel old.

 

A bit messy. So far not really thrilled........but ........ can't be as hard a Photoshop...... but then I don't know anything about Photoshop either...Guess I will buy a Mercedes.

 

I can't even find how to start a new Thread, and I can't get the replies to give me the newest First , it starts out with the old thread......

Definitely looks a bit odd. Also at least on mobile (iPhone 7) the posters handle is obscured by the join date. I'm sure that's an easy fix for the webmaster.

 

I finally found messages under Conversations. But how do I get the newest reply to show up first.
This thing is stressing me out..........

 

New format is terrible. Hard to read

 

After being a member only for 11 years.. I am not sure I stay around long enough to learn it. I use to read it 20 time a day. Now I can just whip through it, plus I still can't find out how to show the newest reply on any of this. I take me back to the very first post last week , and I have to go through pages to find out the newest. Somewhere like Email there must be a "read Date first " or something that lets you see it in a different order. I hate not knowing how to do something so simple, and I really used this thing for 11 years to learn and ask questions . Feel like I got kicked in the stomach and Ferrari support is gone.

 

So, I played a little bit around with the new software, definitely a big step forward, I like it!
If I'm honest, the previous version seemed to me a little bit outdated and unattractive. Great job Rob!

 

I agree old format with new features is better.
The red on the new format bothered my eyes and there seemed too much going on.
