Hi, I'm assuming that the A/C dryer isn't unique to this model, or even Ferrari, so does anyone have any part number cross-references, or maybe another (cheaper) vehicle it was used on? Thank you, Paul
Get a supplier catalogue and go through the pictures. For my QV, OEM was $275, but identical to one from Caterpillar, of all places, for $20. They all do the same thing, it's the shape and inlet/outlet orientation that matters.
I've tried trawling through that thread but couldn't find anything. However, it would have been easy to miss it amongst all of the part numbers listed. I think I've found one at a local auto aircon supplier for less than £20.
Here is the cross reference thread. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/140321222-post236.html As stated, there are two tabs that need to be cut off. I have this on my 78 308 GTS and it fits and works fine. I also had these numbers as a cross reference, however, I cannot verify the accuracy other than the Four Seasons 33444, which is the one I used. AC Dryers-Cross reference ACDelco 15-10000, 15-1995 BMW 64531377412 CarQuest / NAPA 208660, 208755 Denso 478-5505 Frigette 207-546 Four Seasons 33438, 33444 Omega 37-12906
Anybody else having problems using the above cross-ref link? I click on it and it says there's an error. In any case, I replaced my drier years ago and got soaked by a local supplier (hundreds of dollars... Grrr). I later discovered that a Ser. III Jaguar XJ-6 drier was identical, save for the mentioned tabs needing to be cut off. < $40.
Before the new version of Ferrari Chat that link worked. Now error message. I wonder how many other links won't work.
Thanks Peter. As I work in Coventry, home of Jaguar, I should have no problem sourcing one of those. We're in Spain at the moment in the Dino having to make do with opening the windows. Paul
