I'm sure performance-wise it is incredible, but the looks don't aren't that clean imo. I think Aston's Valkyrie has nicer lines. These hypercars are still pretty cool...

 

Yah, it was a big 'meh' for me in the looks department (inside and out).

 

The front part looks like a dustbuster! Ugly..

 

I'm wondering how many kilometers that 1.6 engine can do before having to be rebuilt.

 

According to Mercedes it needs to be serviced every 50,000 km

 

im sure dynamics will be outrageous but style wise, doesn't seem that much more advanced than McLaren f1 from 25 yrs ago.

 

It is an overall efficient engine, though.

I'm surprised at how much it weighs. Rumors are it's around 2,650lbs, which is 400lbs more than Aston's Valkyrie (n/a V12 + hybrid) and it weighs more than the 25 year old McLaren F1 at 2,500lbs and all its lighter variants (n/a V12 without hybrid).

 

It'll weigh close to 3,000 pounds full of fluids and the Valkyrie will weigh like 2,700 pounds. These cars all weigh more than advertised...unless you're Porsche.

 

Not infrequently do I hear that Porsche underrates their advertised power levels, too...

I wonder if VAG will make a competitor under their Audi brand and BMW as well. I've only heard rumors, but it seems the number of buyers for these multimillion dollar hypercars continues to expand.

I know the McLaren F1 had its initial production goals cut and struggled to sell its last ones. Did the Veyron have slower than expected sales? They ended up making 450, but I don't know if they planned on it being 10 years...I feel like early on they were slow and then with the special variants it picked up pace.

Correction Lewis, AMG can build a better Super-Carp than Ferrari, look at the front of this monstrosity by AMG, I think even a carp has a better face.

It’s hard to imagine what the V6 sounds like as the 11,000-rev redline approaches. Given the noise in this video, a set of earplugs might be a necessity to avoid headaches during long-term driving of the Project One.

We can’t draw too many other conclusions about this Project One because it’s clearly a pre-production example. For example, the digital instrument panel and center display show the same looping videos. Hamilton shows off what some of the buttons do on the racing-inspired steering wheel, though.

The Project One packs over 1,000 horsepower from an electric-turbocharged V6 that routes through a bespoke eight-speed automated manual. It can get to 124 miles per hour (200 kilometers per hour) in less than six seconds and to a top speed of 217 mph (350 kph). A motorsport-inspired chassis featured a carbon fiber monocoque, push-rod suspension, and carbon-ceramic brakes

Mercedes will build just 275 units of the Project One for €2.275 million ($2.27 million) each. The company already has buyers from the entire production run. Deliveries don't begin until 2019.

Man 2.5 years later that thing is still ugly and hasn't aged well. MB needs to dump the ugly iPad looking displays on their dashboards as it looks like cheap aftermarket rather than something that was given thought.

 

Why do people have to hate cars like this and Valkyrie? They are very fascinating projects. They're basically LMP cars on the road. And it'll be difficult even for Ferrari, Porsche and McLaren to come up with a hypercars to beat them.

The T.50, with 600+ hp and no electric drivetrain, would be no match for the AMG One, or the Valkyrie(IF they finally end up building the Valkyrie)
