This new format sucks

I don't know you people, but this gentleman above has 9,000 posts and been here for 10+ years and he's talked to in this manner? Wtf is wrong.

 

Looks like at the most I only have to climb 99 more spots to knock you from the top spot then.

 

Nothing is wrong. This is an online community, not a daycare.

 

Yes, believe it or not we have been working on the issues!

 

Even the old format gives significant eyestrain. Too bright of a background. I can't use the site for many than a few minutes.

 

Using old format version.

I like the new posts down at the bottom of the page. But it is hard to tell what forum you are in when you click on a new post and it's somewhere in the middle of the thread. I have made a few posts in the wrong thread because l thought l was in a different thread. So l have to go to the beginning or end to see where l am and then find the post again that l want to quote and respond to. Help.

 

Old format should be exact colors, so you might try turning screen brightness down? Not sure how else to help there, sorry

 

How is it different from old site? We are planning on doing a button that goes to top or bottom of page for the old style. The new style already has it if you want to see what it is like

Your premise is flawed. "The customer is always right" might be a good public relations statement in a one-on-one commerce transaction, but even then it is never actualized in its entirety, but generally as a compromise ("we're sorry for your troubles, we can't refund 100%, but here's a 20% off coupon on your next purchase" or "we're sorry we can't take your $350,000 for a new Ferrari order right now, but we'll be happy to take $300,000 for this used Ferrari and put you on the list for the next open order when it comes up in 12-18 months").

Unfortunately, even that doesn't work for a 180K user forum where changing the experience of one means changing the experience for the other 179,999, no matter how "important" you feel the single user is. What Rob and Jack are doing is taking complaints and acting on them after assessing that they are legitimate, feasible and that doing so is a positive for the majority of users. To the extent that diverse preferences can be accommodated by user selectable configurations (such as offering the Fchat-Old skin), they're working on those. But not every complaint, such as the charge that the new format was intended to increase ad views, is legitimate. Given how long this platform conversion was put off, that charge is actually insulting. If a customer starts being abusive and unreasonable to a store manager, then you can expect that customer might get thrown out, no matter who he is.

Could Rob have had more patience and told Marcel that he was wrong more politely, sure. But Administrator has a different spelling and meaning than Ambassador. Rob offering to pass off interactions to people who have a better relationship history with Marcel is as ambassadorial as Rob gets.

 

On a positive note; have any of you noticed how if someone quotes another person there is a little arrow near the quote that takes you to the original? Pretty nice not to have to go searching for it any longer.
