YES , HAMILTON GOOD JOB.
Hopefully Vettel gets a similar gift in the near future. After all, its racing and S&IT HAPPENS so hopefully next time it will happen to Hamilton.
Will be interested to see if Dan collected any damage from the lap 1 incident. His car never showed the potential from quali and practice
Vettel must know by now that Max will not easily back off..if at all.he made a crap start and was being out dragged by Kimi and Max,he tried to squeez Max. Its a racing incident ,Vettel shot himself in the foot.
Both Pink Panthers in the points. Palmer in the points. Stroll in the points. Vandoooooooorne in the points. Sainz was pretty happy on the radio for 4th
Verstappen can't help it that Vettel made a poor start. What should he have done? "Oh Vettel had a poor start I better get off throttle so he can remain ahead?" What you're saying is that he should've tried pass him on tactics or pick his moment...what moment better than when the Ferrari is slow away and what would've been a clean move if Vettel didn't cut across him? Max was absolutely blameless here.
Jolyon Palmer finds out from the internet he's being replaced, and it's said he's being offered a sizeable sum of $ to step out of the car after this race. He then ends up with 8 points today, whereas he'd earned a single point in his F1 career so far. Not that he's any type of great talent, but I'm sure he's smiling a bit today.

Err.... Because it's your best chance of getting ahead on a track renowned for being hard to overtake on and set the pace? Added to which, why should Max have to be concerned about the possible WDC implications if he's not in with a shout of winning the WDC for himself? There's no rule that states: "Drivers no longer in WDC contention, must not drive in a manner against other drivers still in WDC contention, that could have an adverse effect on the WDC!" With Seb still being involved in the WDC, that makes him more vulnerable to being attacked by those who are no longer in with a shout of winning it. Because the start is more often than not the best possibility of gaining places/the lead, and dictating the pace of the race, rather than just holding station and waiting/hoping that the race comes to you later on. Based on what you're suggesting, all races, be they wet or dry, should start behind the safety car with no overtaking allowed until the safety car has left the track! How good do you think F1 drivers are? Max was gaining on Seb off the line, and so that was the focus of his attention. Then, when Seb came across to start cutting him off, Max moved left to avoid a collision with Seb. Having made what he would have thought was the best start possible, there's was no way Max would have expected Kimi to come up the inside of him at the speed he did, and so he would have thought he had space to spare to move away from Seb and go into turn one in second place. Expecting Max to keep an eye on Seb driving at him, and keep an eye on Kimi at the exact same time, and judge what he was doing, is just asking too much of Max (or any other F1 driver for that matter). Ricciardo knew there was a chance of Max getting mixed up in something at the start because that's just the sort of attacking driver Max is. Fair play to Ricciardo, he sat back waiting to see what would happen, and benefited from the result. Today, Max was unlucky - He wasn't the cause of the incident though!
To be fair, Williams got the strategy wrong keeping him out with the wet tyres when everybody was on inters. That alone dropped him to dead last.
I'd like to see Kimi's viewpoint, his steering movements pre impact, because he seems to be the one who touches Max first.
I expect a professional driver to put the squeeze on someone in this situation. The problem is that Kimi also squeezed from the other side and tragedy was the result. Max held a straight line. If anyone has majority blame, it's probably Kimi...
