Agree huge improvement all round but that wheel design reminds me way too much of our MB V250-what were they thinking? They need a new wheel designer! Image Unavailable, Please Login

Went to my dealer today who had just received the Portofino configurator, albeit short of many options. I think I am going GT.

Again, I don't like all the obvious plastics on the rear and the sides, and feel that it's overly aggressive and insecure of a design ... yet CdF or GS would work better that the white or red or blue with the strong contrast to the black plastics. Not colors good for me personally. That leaves Nero or Nero Daytona ... they would be my preference IF I was to go there.

Right now considering adding DSC Sport with TPC racing shocks, Cobb ECU and PDK tunes, and a header ... the '16 911 GTS, or a Cali T HS over this. The GTS with that suspension would be far superior to the Cali T HS, so that's the likely road. I can get 470 HP from the GTS without much trouble and have a killer suspension for daily and track for under 10k.

I agree. The rim choices we have seen are the weakest past of the new design. Let's hope there are a few better offerings. Otherwise folks might just go standard and replace with after market

The Portofino is the smartest complete package in the Ferrari line up.
It is prettier that the Lusso and 812. It is a more usable hardtop convertible than the 488.
It's performance is now quite respectable. And it is priced well--that is in the world that is Ferrari.

I see a lot of longtime Ferrari owners buying one. No more shame and bullying about it being ugly or a still-born Maserati.

Instead Portofino owners will be seen as the 'smart money'

What dealer do you go to?

Mine said they won't have configurator for a few more weeks still... Wonder if it's a UK vs US thing?

Ah makes sense Europe probably just gets it first :)

Do you recall by chance if ventilated seats were one of the options? It's the 1 thing (in addition to color) the wife cares about.

i think the measurement can only give you a very limited view on the change in design. ferrari never gives out other measurement such as the canopy's height and width. 28mm doesn't seem like a lot but it could be that the trapezium of the canopy has been narrowed down from the top to bottom to give a even more aggressive look. but the truth is it could just be the difference in camera angles.

on the side note i absolute disagree with the statement about the portofino being the same as the cali. i thought cali was an ugly car from photo or in person but i love the portofino at the first sight. ( i can't even admit that i feel the same way when i saw laferrari at launch). if only they quickly update the design of the 812 then ferrari will have a close to perfect lineup(look-wise) from top to bottom.

There must be some misunderstanding because I never said the Portofino was the same as the Cali on the contrary. I don't find the Cali with the top up an ugly car but there are certain angles I always believed could be improved. The Portofino for me was like for you love at first sight and when things start that way normally they stay.

It's not a car where people really turned their head, this will change.

Apart from that it was just too slow for a current Ferrari.

If you read faykau post 186 that statement was made by him and not by me and to clarify matters I don't find the Cali an ugly car top up or down. The reason for my post 187 has to do with faykau mentioning that I said the Portofino was the same as the Cali and I never said that.

The Portafino seems to be a better design than the 812 Superfast. However I think the grill of the Portofino could be slightly improved.

i was referring to another poster's comment when i voice my disagreement to the statement about cali being similar to portofino. that poster said' if you like cali, you will like porto, vice versa'

and yes the original cali is ugly in my eyes, saw it on the street and i remember so well how chunky it looked. cali t improved a bit but it still has a lot of flaws, the main shape of the car hasn't changed from cali to t and that's my biggest beef with its design.
and the photo brain posted just reaffirm my opinion.

but yea it is just a matter of taste.

Ferrari owners and there opinion on Ferrari's. The thing that really makes me laugh at their opinion is many Ferrari drivers just don't drive their Ferrari's.

Fast? How many people take their Ferrari to the track? I take my California T.

Love the black, looks great. Mine looks awful (not Ferrari red). I guess I will just make do with this ugly car.

I love the looks of the new Portofino. I also love the looks of 488. If I wanted a 488 I would buy one.

Love that clean blue Cali T, reminds me i need to wash ours tonight. Dark blues do show the dirt.
Eagerly awaiting new pics of the PF (apologies Battista) but so far looks wise nothing has me wanting to step up financially.
The profile is good but some of the side channel behind the front wheel is odd, there is far too much plastic on the rear end and the grill is well, a move in another direction.
Its going to be the driving experience that counts, does that justify an earlier than envisaged Cali T HS trade in or not.
    Lets see.

Looks very nice. Is the configurator up already or is that from the dealership?

Ahh, wish I had access to dealership's configurator. The Ferrari's online one is still in progress. :(

Yes it's the dealers configurator (they have it since today) and no: The wheel options are those from the presentation pics.
