Lewis wants to help save the planet by going vegan, but will still happily fly all around the World on jet planes that pump out environmentally damaging pollution into the atmosphere, and race a car that has been deliberately designed to burn 1.2 litres of oil every 60 miles!

He's not really thought his: "save the planet" idea through fully really, has he?

Once again the anti Hamilton group obsessing over something so utterly non track related. I couldn't care less.

 

Sure, but now you measure global averages. Hamilton's personal impact on not eating meat has the effect of 0.0000000. But Hamilton's impact on flying a private jet equals likely the emissions of a whole town. So his path towards a more sustainable future is not exactly well thought out.

 

You could argue that Hamilton by making such a statement will motivate some of his fans to do the same. Now you suddenly have a significant multiplier effect. OTOH him flying a private jet won't motivate his fans to do the same for the lack of $.

But as I said, I couldn't care less. He can eat baby seals for breakfast and use a sailboat to go to races, wouldn't matter to me one way or the other.

Sorry, but saying you're going to try to help save the planet by going vegan, whilst still utilising some of the most polluting vehicles to travel around the World, and to race for fun, is a bit like saying you're going to campaign for animal rights whilst wearing a fur coat!

If Hamilton is so crap shouldnt Vettel be thrashing him? If Vettel fails to win the title against such a crappy driver what would that say about him.
