    Hi Carlo !! Was v good to see you at the advanced pilota 2 weeks ago! Sorry for the delay in responding - I had an extended break afterwards ... lucky me !
    I can totally agree with you - we were fortunate at the varano circuit for 21/2 days of the advanced pilota to thrash the 812 ( and the 488) on the track ,. I totally agree with your sentiments of the 812 vs our Tdfs-the 812 is beautifully fast, appears much more refined than the tdf but maintains a great ( albeit lesser) exhaust note.
    The electric steering seemed totally natural and normal - infact if we hadn't been told i would never have guessed electric assistance.
    The blue 812s looked v classy ...
    I totally agree with you Carlo , I'm also even more looking forward to getting my 812 having really tracked it.
    The last session of the advanced pilota involved driving the 488 challenge cars on the Varano Parma track - truly a fab experience . If any fellow f-chatters have the opportunity to do at least the 1st (sport) pilota and the 2nd (Advanced ) pilota as we did , DO IT! Enormous fun!!!

    The week before I was fortunate enough to drive my 488 from England in rally convoy through to France , Zurich , fluela pass , St Moritz, Milan and maranello as part of the 70th celebration European rally. There was a beautiful tri strato Giallo 812 driving through the fluela pass with us ( Belgian plates and excellent plate "Monza"). A beautiful tri strato Giallo tdf parked behind it and I will try to upload the photo I quickly took ( excuse the quality please) which allows a good side by side real world comparison of the 812 next to a similar coloured tdf ' in the wild '- the yellow 812 looks sooo beautiful imho........

    To be fair, yellow is not the best color for the 812. Black looks like the best color IMO to hide all that behind busy-ness, at least among the photos I've seen posted here...T

    The Tristrato Giallo 812 is the 'testcar' of my Dealer in Belgium, garage Monza, hence the plate number. Haven't seen the car in the flesh yet but will test it in about 2 weeks time. Dealer also says he's a bit surprised how good this car looks in the configuration...I'm looking forward to test it!:)

    That 488 Challenge edition looks like it could work the air in a serious way. Great fun to get those slick tires hot and work them hard. Thank you for sharing those pictures and the detailed information here!

    I still think that it looks much better in person
    and that some details grow on me but i can certainly say
    that it can't reach the level of the F12 for because of its timeless
    lines and my affection to this outstanding GT. :)

    Yes, i will drive the 812 next time because i want to check the technical side too
    but i already know that the F12 is a perfect match to me, i didn't need more power,
    i didn't need a stiffer ride and i love the steering of the F12 but 4 wheel steering
    could be a detail which i will love but thats not enough to break up
    with Signora Berlinetta! :D

    But i'm already very excited for the TdF successor... :)
