    Hi all

I'm trying to find out how many RHD 355 GTS manual models were made before the 5.2 engine management system replaced the 2.7 system in 1996.

Given that the total number of RHD manual GTS models over the production period was 360, I'm guessing that the number would be around 145 to 150?

I'd be grateful for any information anyone might have.

    Many thanks

    Hi Mitch

Thanks for your reply. Now that's really confused me! I understood that airbags were introduced at the same time that the engine management system was changed to the 5.2 single-pipe system. Clearly not. May I ask what year your car is please?

    Many thanks

I'm pretty sure all US Spec 355's have airbags, regardless of year or motronic unit.
The non-airbag 355s were euro spec 94s and very early 95s.

Exactly, only the euros got to skip the air bags for a year.

The 1994 F355 steering wheel is to die for. Well, not literally, but it's GORGEOUS.

Image Unavailable, Please Login There are a few pre airbag early 95 F355 in Australia - I have seen about 6. From Jan-July 1995 Australian delivered F355 were 2.7 and no airbags, then from July 95- Dec 96 were 2.7 airbag equipped and from 97 the 5.2 and Airbag. There were no spiders delivered with the 3 spoke non airbag wheel in Australia as the first deliveries were in 96.

I don't share the dislike for the airbag wheel, I still think it's really nice even if a bit bulky.

But yes the non-airbag wheel is pretty damn sweet ^^^

I actually prefer the airbag to the old 3 spoke only because it looks more modern to me. I prefer the 360 wheel to the old airbag for the same reason, it makes the car look more modern to me.
I like my carbon 360 wheel the best because same reason looks more modern.

Wow. Possibly my favourite steering wheel design. What does the glove box look like open?
