I would definitly put clarck above Senna, in fact i think i would put him above everyone else bar Gilles...
It had been dangerous from the start (just consider the number of accidents before the stop) and the race was conveniently stopped only when Prost (driving a McLaren-TAG-Porsche) was on the lead, by Jacky Ickx whose links with Porsche were no mystery. I think that raised some doubts over the rationales of the decision; doubts are doubts and not facts however, so I really find it hard to tell.
Hambone shows support for NFL protests http://www.espn.co.uk/f1/story/_/id/20846600/three-f1-world-champion-lewis-hamilton-shows-support-nfl-anthem-protests
Anybody who was there knew the reasons why Ickx did it. It was so obvious. BTW: I'm a Prost fan and was happy that he won the race, but I knew it was only due to Ickx. PS: What is often forgotten that the real racing God was closing in fast. No not Senna. The real racing God was closing in on Senna. So in essence Senna might have been saved (along with Prost).
I bet he does'nt realize how these/this "protest" got started, and how currently its gotten so conveluted that everyone now wants to lock-arms together and sing kumba-ya....the message has gotten lost and the NFL players are doing it in the wrong platform. That's my 2 cents. sorry gents for going off-topic in an F1 forum.
I guess I need to stand corrected....not. Gilles - 67 races........Jimmy - a WHOLE 6 more...73 Gilles - 2 whole poles. :snicker:........ Jimmy - 33. ........http://www.4mula1.ro/statistics/driver/poleposition.html Jimmy - 28 fastest laps.........Gilles - 8. :snickerII: ........http://www.4mula1.ro/statistics/driver/fastestlap.html Aww heck. This is easier. Don't cry. http://www.statsf1.com/en/gilles-villeneuve.aspx http://www.statsf1.com/en/jim-clark.aspx
A classy, mature instagram post by Lewis showing a dog humping the face of a Trump doll. Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
This is the "Lewis Sucks" thread, ya know. Plus, I'm not a role model with a worldwide fanbase. Yet, anyway.
Now i understand why you think Jimmy is better, your a stats man!! So Damon Hill is a lot better than Gilles, Ickx, Amon, Peterson, Sheckter, Jones, andretti, brooks, Moss, etc, etc...ok, lololololo
Talk about deflection.... You'll have to explain to me how simply pointing out another person's classless PUBLIC posts/statements makes me equally classless, since that is apparently your accusation. That makes no logical sense. If I point out that the KKK is racist, does that then make me a racist? Come on. FWIW, it appears he has since deleted said post from his instagram. Wonder why? FWIW part 2, I honestly have always rather liked Lewis up until now. I'm certainly not one of the Hamilton Haters. Sure he can be a bit whiny at times, but so can most of the other guys. I've always admired his interest in and respect for the history of the sport. He seems very family oriented, which I admire. Plus he likes bulldogs, which counts for a lot in my book. Still, doesn't absolve him from having his dumb statements pointed out, especially when said statements accomplish little except to insult at least half of his American fans.
At the end of the day we all have our heroes, and different eras. Stats are stats and if they say clark is the greatest so be it; all i know is i personaly never seen a better drive than senna at donnington 93, it was mesmerizing. As far as lewis, whilst i think he is a great driver and i certainly envy his lifestyle; i do not like how he pretends to be hip-hop, tough, street and all that bs. He might not have come from as rich of a background as some others but come on; this is a kid whose dad was not poor, in a rich kid's sport so him acting all tatted up, showing off etc tends to irritate me. A lot of us know a lot more what the world struggle mean. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I thought I did. I guess not. Pointing out, and re-posting garbage (be it so or not), is two different things. Again, glass houses, stones. I realize now your a mature, classy, person.
Seems like most of you don't like Hamilton...for whatever reasons. I always felt Senna was overrated...for my own reasons...and preferred Prost. And we are all great armchair generals. I have to say that I feel Hamilton has done some brilliant drives...equal to Clark and Senna and Schumacher and anyone else. The cars have evolved and it is really flawed logic to compare drivers from different technological and rules eras. However I do respect the judgment of people who put their money where their mouth is...and get the results they are paying for. I think Mercedes is very happy with Hamilton and I don't think there is a driver on the grid who they would take in his place. Not Vittle or Alonzo or Verstapen or Ricardo or any of the others. They might want them in addition to Hamilton but not in place of. As for Rossberg...he was smart to get out when he did. Very talented...yes...and in his one championship years also very lucky...but totally lacking the passion of truly great drivers.
Agreed, different eras do different things. Listen im french and although prost was well liked even most french didnt rate him as high as senna simply because he didn't take as many risks and wasn't great in the wet. Was he bad? No but thé greatest? The problem with hamilton is that he never did do anything when the mclaren was a bad car but more importantly he is phony and fake to me... That being said, him, vettel and alonso are the 3 best drivers to me Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Stats or no stats, a lot of drivers were/are better than Gilles Villeneuve. He was very erratic, driving above his limits with a death wish, and he didn't achieve much apart from wrecking cars. You don't build a career by only aiming at the next corner and with no mechanical sympathy for your car like he did. Maybe very spectacular, and the darling of the crowd for his careless style, but not conclusive to win many races or championship. But then, you also claimed that the Toleman was a good car ... Jim Clark was the real deal, very talented, nursing his car and driving within his limits.
