Doubt it after that impact - The hit to the wheel/drive shaft would have put a massive load through the box for a start off

It looked a bit like RIC made at least two defensive moves, at one point.
But, after that, he made good use of back markers to hold off VET until the tires went off.

From Vettel's onboard, it looks like Seb didn't leave massive room on the inside.
But this is F1, not driver's ed. These drivers shouldn't need a lot of extra space.
The image above shows it from Massa's(?) car: The track turned, Vettel turned, Stroll didn't.
At that pace, it wasn't losing grop. More like brain fade.
(Dang kids texting and driving. :p)

I believe after a shunt like that....the driveshaft probably did some damage to the gearbox.

Its obvious Stroll was strolling, and turned off his racing head, a fair enough call.

In the interview with Will Buxton, he said he was "shutting down"....I guess he took his eyes off his surroundings going into a left handed turn. Then Vettel turning left.

No further action by the stewards.

I would have been surprised if none of the "experts" here would have blamed Seb for this one as well ;)

Co drivers of the day for me x2 Red Bull

Vettel drove strong to move up as expected.

Stroll LOL! Please just go away and enjoy a life in Karting.

Now is Mercedes in trouble with overall pace?? They just dont appear to be getting stronger but the others around them are. More hope for Ferrari possibly.

A penalty was due for Stroll. Given the damage Vettel may face. Absurd ruling. Inexcusable to hit a competitor on a slow down lap.

According to the stewards both drivers were equally guilty.
So Stroll yes, but seb as well.

Why have rules or responsibility when everything is just a 'racing incident'.

Oh...when they say so it must be true...no doubt...
Wait...they also said last race that not a single driver is to blame for the start incidents but the "experts" here knew exactly that it was all Sebs fault...
I am in a dilemma now: are they always right or always wrong??? I lost track ;)

A very good race from Verstappen, who didn't put a foot wrong. But what happened to the mighty Mercedes?
Huge question mark about Ferrari, and Vettel's chance to challenge for the title.
2 unsolved technical incidents in the team over one weekend, doesn't bode well for the future.

Verstappen: Hamilton had "more to lose" in Turn 1 move. Gotta love this kids thinking going toe-to-toe with Lewis.

    Huh?

Seb's issue in qualifying has been solved: https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/ferrari-gets-to-bottom-of-vettel-s-fault-as-new-parts-fitted-959853/

Kimi's issue was unsolved because it wasn't something simple than could be fixed in a couple of minutes (these are highly complicated cars - Sometimes, simply switching the car off and back on again doesn't instantly solve the problem), and Ferrari had to abandon trying to fix it because they were already too many laps down, and they needed to concentrate on Seb's race (and Kimi wanted his ice cream! :) )

I seriously doubt it will take Ferrari too long to solve what went wrong with Kimi's car.

The Max haters on here will no doubt slate him for daring to go wheel to wheel with a driver going for the WDC! ;)

Sad to see Kimi be the sacrificial lamb for one extra place for Vettel. Ferrari should be ashamed.

Vettel himself didn't blame anyone in Singapore, but does blame Stroll in Malaysia, tells you something. Just glad it happened after the flag.

But let's just celebrate our favourite driver winning the Malaysian GP: :D
