Ran across this playing around on ebay. This seems extremely low for a gated 2003. Yes, it has 40K but seems to be in decent condition. It was listed at 85k with no bids and now dropped all the way down to $69k. Hopefully it's just suffering from the season but this doesn't bode well for those of us who bought near the bottom of the curve...

If you bought the car you wanted to drive I wouldn't obsess about prices. Frankly with the F1 a $10K option, thinking the gated cars would be worth $15k to $20k more never really made sense to me-- and I drove a gated car before I bought my F1. Didn't like the feel. Kind of crude actually for a car made in this century. Just me. To add, having only one photo aint helpin' none.

    Cheap!
The all market is correcting. The color isn’t great too; that combined with the season and the fact that the seller might be in need for cash and therr u are...
Same thing with the TR their real value now is more around 85/90k than 120...will see long term!

Click on the description and there are more photos. There was a silver manual at a dealer in Alabama that looked nicer with Daytonas and it sold for mid 60's. The 360 gets no love.

Not bad news for me cause I ain't selling.

Not enough pictures to judge condition. Does apparently have a new clutch. What is that line in front of the bonnet, a badly installed clear bra or ???

That line is just a clear bra, I'm never impressed on how they age..

As for the car/price, I'm not planning on selling either, but I just like to know that I got a good deal and that I could sell it, if need be, for what I paid for it, if not a little extra...just been an MO for me buying cars for years. This find makes my deal seem, well, not as killer. I bought my car to drive, not an investment.

At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter except for the internal grumblings knowing that someone got a stellar deal on what is basically the same car you have, not to mention that I think we would all like to see our cars continue to increase in value.

    I'm certainly not rich
    and
I hope to not lose too many $$ when the time comes to sell
    but
that's not currently on the event horizon.

If you bought at bottom of price curve, you should do OK

    Cheers

Interesting. This car was just listed for 85 a couple weeks ago. I am thinking that this is a car with a "story". A big bad scare the pants off of you story.

Couple things...The airbag bubble is pretty obnoxious, and coming from a dealership that is apparently savvy with vintage cars one wonders why they didnt just fix that!

What is up with the clear panels, gauges and the gauge faces here? Flood car? I don't get it.

Meh. Aventura has some nice examples. I'm sure this is a nice car. I suspect that the market in general is low as is the time of year.I suspect a dealership taking a loss or realizing they won't make the profit they think that they will on the car. So unload it.

As a noxious gated proponent... I can only imagine having to sell an F1. Granted, mines a keeper so I don't care personally.

Edit: actually this is consistent with the market. Looks like some F1's are ask at 60ish. I wouldn't be surprised if it sells mid 60's.

You cant really judge a collector car market by a car that a collector would never buy. BTW think about subtracting the 40%+ premium for gated cars and were that might put this car if it were F1.....

I should also say that for someone that wants to enter the gated F car market on a limited budget this car is probably a great opportunity.

I think the gauges just have cleaner overspray on them, seems lazy to post a photo like that but whatever. As usual, it seems absurd that 40K miles is high but be that as it may, it sure would make a fun little hotrod candidate. I would hope that the dealer would disclose any "story" in the description... if there is one.

Most likely just priced without rose colored glasses on. Probably more of this ahead.

The paint is totally different color on the side skirts than the rest of the car. Also seems like the pane fit on the front end fenders (eh hem wings) doesn't seem look right to me, plus the front trunk cover (eh hem, bonnet!) seems to be different color and its positioning doesn't look right too suggesting previous major accident damage and repair.

If you are in the market to buy this car take an inspection expert with you!

That's the key to it. Buy the car you want: options, colors, mileage, and the records you feel comfortable with.
I have always compromised on something when buying a "used car". This time the "perfect for me" 360 came up and I did not hesitate. I paid a fair price for it. Not a killer deal, but I also now don't care what else shows up cheaper. I got the car I wanted and like yourself, I intend to keep it, enjoy it and if it goes up in value, fine. If not that's fine too. At my age you begin to realize you may not be around long enough to "cash in" anyway.

1 car does not set the price for the rest. Clearly this is a stories car, you get what you pay for. Crisis over.

..................On the contrary I am specifically looking for a manual 360 Spider at the moment. I have both options in cars that I own now (Ferrari 348ts and Merc CLA45 AMG) and I think you get a far better more pure driving experience with the manual. Getting that toe/heal gear change just right through a set of corners is nothing short of exhilarating. The F1 style paddles is also very nice but you don't get the same drive involvement and feel with the car and can even be a bit boring in routine driving.

Given we will never see another gate shift Ferrari again I also believe the manual 360 and 430 will become far more sought after in the future as people start to crave more for the classics. Indeed given how the 308GT4 through to the 348 models have jumped in price over the last 12 to 18 months I think it has already started. The 360 market in general has bottomed out significantly which is why I have chosen to make a move now. Its definitely going to be a manual Spider 2004 - 2005 for me ![/QUOTE]

What is up with the passenger air bag on the dash? At first I thought it was just a reflection, but it shows like it is bubbling out in all the photos.

I've seen that many times in these cars. Ferrari quality issue? Maybe an aftermarket replacement? To my knowledge CarFax will only show the car was in an accident if the owner claims it on his insurance. Owner fixes with cash, nobody will likely ever know it was crunched and air bag deployed. I actually had an honest owner tell me about a small fender bender in his garage concerning a car that he paid for the repairs himself to the amount of $2500. It showed a spotless "no accidents" CarFax.

Funny, that's one of the selling points of the car I bought. No holes. In Florida we do not have a front license plate.

Airbag with leather bubbling is a common issue. The glue that they used to adhere the leather to the bag degrades. It's just like headliner glue.. no biggie IMHO. Inspection of the frame would be more definitive.
Front end doesn't look that bad to me in the pics.
