Weird take. MSC faced very stiff challenges in 2000 and 2003. His car was nowhere near dominant those years. Vettel's car was nowhere near dominant in 2010 or 2012. Are you sure you watch F1? Also, Hamilton has driven much better cars over the course of his career than Schumacher or Vettel. Not even debatable.

As for #2 drivers, Barrichello and Webber were much better and more accomplished driver than Bottas or Kovalainen. Yeah LH had to face Rosberg and Button, but also managed to lose to them at least once so means little.

How many other drivers come into F1 and plop down into a car that is the class of the field? In their rookie year? Then LH even had the team supporting him over Alonso, the #1 driver. As a rookie! Turned out to be a mistake...we all remember that epic chokejob in China LOL

MSC came in with Jordan and Vettel came in with Toro Rosso and earned it on the track.

He got it because he won every championship his rookie or sophomore year he ever competed in and this includes F1. And China was McLaren mistake, they kept him out way to long on those tires. Also as a rookie he defeated his teammate who was the current and 2xWDC who hasn't won a WDC since them and tomorrow The GOAT Lewis The Hammer Hamilton will take his 4th! Still the only driver to win a race in every season been in. I'm not sure if we'll ever see that again.

All this and he's never had a number 2 driver...

He is winning his fourth WDC and in the history of F1 there are only four other drivers who can say that. Fangio, Prost, Schumacher and Vettle. I don't care what cars they were/are driving, these five men did it and no one else has. You don't have to like any or all of these drivers but the facts are the facts and they carry more weight than a bunch of arm chair opinions.

How often do you want to repeat this nonsense???
What is your definition of a No.2 driver? Does it has to be written in his contract that he is the second driver in the team?
What makes you believe that Kovalainen and Bottas were/are no No.2?

It is a weird take from those who have swallowed the Tifosi Kool-aid and have to find a way to diminish Hamilton's accomplishments. From the title of this thread, it is all about splitting hairs and framing facts in any-way-possible to show how MS was a hero to bring home his junk car against better teammates, where-as Hamilton is an idiot only blessed with a magical car. LOL

Fact is, I knew who would win before the race started during MS dominate years, Same for Vettel and same for Hamilton. Of the 30 years I've watched F1 the three most dominate modern cars starting in 2000 have made the winner of the race in 13 of the last 17 years a forgone conclusion before the first corner. Ferrari had their turn, then Red Bull and now Mercedes... its not that complicated.

China he didn't manage his tires. He ran them so hard they obviously wore out, Kimi and Alonso easily managed them. Mclaren hardly to blame for his own incompetence.

And once again you repeat it...but you do not answer the question: what makes a driver a No.2 driver and why do you think Kovalainen and Bottas were not???

Your only intention seems to be trolling...you do nothing but talking in platitudes without anything backing up your "opinion"...You can not even answer a simple question.
People like you are the reason Lewis gets so much love here in this forum....

Best qualifier in Formula 1. Seb Vettel. How many times has he just pulled one out of nowhere to get pole?? Amazing....and not even in the fastest car!! I know someone who's never done that lol

Oh dear. Blinded by obscure hatred as usual. If you care to check the record books you'll notice that Ham has qualified on pole many times in an inferior car. Try the Merc of 2013 for instance. 5 poles that year.

Credit where credits due to Vettel today. An amazing lap for pole in Mexico. Ham couldn't get near him.

Oh...you mean that inferior car that won 8 out of 9 successive pole between the third and the 11th race? The car that was so inferior that Rosberg did win 3 successive poles as well? Yeah right, that car must have been a piece of ****...Tell us more about "blinded by obscure whatever"...

What? Don't be ridiculous. No hatred. Just pointing out the obvious to anyone with an open mind. Mercedes is the fastest car but Lewis doesn't always get pole. Vettel always manages to find something.... He did it over and over at rbr, and now he's done it this year too, when the car gives him half a chance. If only his lack of self control wasn't an issue, he could have given Lewis a real challenge this year.

    Yet more ridiculous statements. Typical.

You do realise that the 2013 season had 20 races? You do realise that the RB was utterly dominant that year? Come on. You are smarter than this. There is no way you can clam the Merc was not an inferior car to both RB and Ferrari that year. RB scored double the points of Merc. Those are facts, not emotion based blinded opinion.

I totally agree with your last sentence. Vettel could have been closer this year if he had kept his head... and if the reliability gods had been on his side. Maybe he will have better luck in 2018. He would be a worthy 5 time WDC.

You should read you own, then you might realize what the word "ridiculous" stands for
    I thought it were 19 ;)
Yes, the RB became completely dominant in the second half of the season when Seb won 9 races in a row. You do realize that once the RB was that dominant Lewis was not getting pole anymore either? The last pole of Lewis was in Spa in mixed conditions when he set the fastest lap on a drying track. This was the last time after the summer break no RB was on pole...
Until the summer brake the RB was not as dominant as you say, Rosberg won 2 races in this "inferior Mercedes"...So if you want to post facts, then you should get them straight first!!!
