Yea, Nite Nite is an easy task when it come to 2 Heavyweights fighting.
On that 30 for 30, The Ruddock vs Morrison fight was just that. Ruddock was destroying Morrison. Morrison threw (I believe it was a hook) And "Nite Nite" went Ruddock.

Tell me about it guys! Lol :D

Why can't Vitali be kind and give praise to young AJ for giving us and his Brother one of the best Heavyweight title fights in years.

Why talk this mess? He is crazy.

Vitali was a force to be reckoned with no doubt, but the man is nearing 50 and it's probably not the best decision he would every make stepping into the ring with a young and healthy Anthony Joshua. :D

Having said all that which I agree entirely with, the storyline's drama "former boxer seeks to avenge brother's defeat" could create lots of interest :p and therefore a big-money fight and an easy payday for AJ, so he's probably thinking "Yea, bring it on" :D just think, Wembley would be packed to the rafters!

You know Joe, I never looked at it that way.

Man, that would be HUGE!!! "Retired boxer seeks to avenge his Brothers loss by coming out of retirement to fight Anthony Joshua"! :D

Sheeeeeett, I might have to buy tickets to that one if it ever went down. :p

What a night for Boxing. Some Great Fights:
Mares looked GREAT in his fight vs Gutierrez.
    Santa Cruz looked GREAT.
Will we have a Santa Cruz vs Mares II?

The fight of the night for me was Hurd vs Trout.
Props to Charlo KO'ing Previously undefeated Lubin in 1 round. I was SO looking forward to this fight. I was Hoping for a longer fight.
Lara's fight was another uneventful fight. I Actually shut it off after the 8th round. I could see the direction it was going. BORING.

AJ has a new opponent in a fortnights time.

Pulev has pulled out due to a shoulder injury, Carlos Takam is his replacement.

WBO champ Joseph Parker beat Takam via a UD April 2016.

I watched that fight, Parker didn't impress...................and Takam looked 100 years old in the ring lol.

I predict a very early stopped for Takam, he is just not on the same level as AJ.

Pulev would have been a much bigger challenge for AJ, but that's boxing for you. Injuries happen from time to time.

Me too, Pulev is a hard case.

    Takam is not lol.

Here is the Parker VS Takam fight if anyone is keen on taking a look at their styles.

I have no doubt AJ will fight Parker, possibly next I reckon.

Takam is a tough competitor. Why is it that Parker isn’t the mandatory for Joshua. How did Takam get the nod?

Takam looked old against Parker, but he put a VERY good fight tonight against AJ! :D

Parker isn't a mandatory for AJ at this point in time.

Kubrat Pulev was the #2 mandatory for AJ's IBF title. (There is no #1 ranking for the IBF title now that Klitschko retired)

Pulev hurt his shoulder two weeks ago, so Takam got the nod on short notice to take the fight because he is ranked #3 by the IBF.

Takam must have been training hard since the Parker fight because he put on a good show and gave AJ a solid fight. :)

Okay thanks for bringing me up to speed. Yes Takam did look good against AJ. Stoppage may have been a bit premature but it was a foregone conclusion. No reason for Takam to take any further punishment.

Unfortunately in my eyes, overall, it wasn't one of AJ's better fights.

I had some more time to think about it and I think the stoppage was spot on mate.

Takam had been dropped, had two big cuts over both eyes, lost nearly every round and he was rocked by that short uppercut before he ended up on the ropes while AJ was swinging wildly at him.

The ref definitely made the right call, was only a matter of time before he was knocked out.

Well, he did have an opponent change only two weeks ago which would have thrown him off his game plan a little.

He also came in at his heaviest weight to date, he survived a BIG headbutt from Takam early on which he thought broke his nose and along with Takam's tricky head movement made for a less than spectacular fight from AJ.

But I won't take away anything from Takam, he put up a good fight for such short notice and he has definitely picked his game up from the Parker fight.

I am not sure if AJ going heaver in weight is a good thing or not. He seemed to gas out in the Klitschko fight around the 6th round and he seemed to gas out around the 8th round in this fight.

Being heavier, he definitely seems to have some serious power behind those punches but I can tell he has lost a lot of his speed. Something he will definitely have to work on.

    Here are the highlights-

I agree. AJs weight is a factor. Tough to keep 250lbs going strong for 12 rounds :). That of course all depends on who is standing in front of him. Takam was definitely one tough customer but AJ is too. That head butt busted up AJs nose pretty good and it didn’t distract him. Just watch the replay and it’s definitely disturbing to watch.

I think Armen, everyone has good and bad days in professional sports just like we all do in everyday life. :)
