The need to pass everything wasn't there, so why bother, he had done all the hard work earlier in the season, and with Vettel's help found himself in a comfortable position to be able to cruise to his 4th WDC, job well done IMO.... Alonso was his teammate, have you forgotten how that one panned out ..yes he beat Alonso to 2nd in the Championship on countback of 2nd places (both had 4 wins), 5 to 4... ....yes even in the same car..there are no If's and but's in the history books it's a fact.
Yes when Alonso had the entire team stacked against him. Fact. Only you could watch his garbage race yesterday and conclude "job well done," but I'm not surprised coming from the fanboy of all fanboys. Meanwhile, while Hamilton was busy dissing Rosberg about quitting, here is a man with some class: http://en.f1i.com/news/284465-nico-rosberg-congratulates-hamilton.html
Call me a fanboy hahaha I couldn't care less, I call it living in the real world, I find it funny that folk like flying in the face of reality though, people love to hate a winner. Yes I really enjoyed the race, it was great watching the 2 fastest drivers at the back of the field, however one had nothing to lose, maybe the race was dull for you because Vettel clipped Hamilton's rear tyre, it would have been nicer seeing them fight at the pointy end. Nice from Nico.
"Real world"...we all live in the universe we create around us and some people will certainly deny that yours is the "real world" as for them theirs certainly is as well but very different from yours F1 is very much like religion: if you do not believe in the same god I do you certainly believe in the wrong one But you guys simplify things very much when you call all living outside your small world "haters" all the time
Agreed Seb was fun to watch. Hamilton didn't do much and got blue flagged and lapped but Seb dicing through the pack was cool.
I mean i am no hamilton fan but with alonso and vettel he is the best right now and he has the best car... To say he sucks is not right... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
How are those sour grapes? Did we watch the same race? You do know that Hamilton was driving a damaged car (diffuser) and he was 25-30 seconds behind Vettel/Sainz when he exited the pits. What exactly were you expecting? A podium finish? Do you know how to do simple math? Even if you drive 1-2 seconds faster than Sainz you need 15-30 laps just to get near him. I don't think F1 is for you if you can't understand that simple concept.
Pete firstly I have said it before I don't label you a hater ok. However It is important to step into the shoes of others and try and take another’s perspective and experiences when interacting with them, if you have tried that I can assure you, you would come to a different conclusion whilst reading this thread. It is possible to rate Hamilton as one of the best current drivers and still support Ferrari.
You see what the magic words are? "ONE OFF"!!! I think Lewis does neither suck nore is he the GOAT in the current field....he is simply one of about 4 (or 5 depending whether one does add Ricciardo) drivers in the field who are very close and who could all win the WDC in the Mercedes. I guess neither Lewis, Seb, Fernando or Max would wipe the floor with any of the other names and it would depend on very small things who of them would succeed in a one-on-one battle in the same car over the year or even longer. But for some reasons of all the drivers mentioned above the supporters of Lewis seem to be the only ones who think he would...
MSC's 2005 car didn't suck...those extra-wide Michelin marshmallow tires were vastly superior to the conventional Bridgestones.
Nothing magical about it, it's just common sense, between the top drivers it's down to tenths of a sec, you can split hairs and debate forever who is the best ad nauseam. Merc built a great car, and they choose Hamilton to drive it for a reason, Vettel shined with Red Bull same scenario. I said it before, a lot of it is tit for tat retaliation. I mean how can anyone with half a brain take nonsensical bashing posts seriously. I figure next year Max will be a real contender, it will be interesting to see how Vettel and Hamilton deal with the fast up start
Yes, Mercedes was looking for a No.1 driver and there are few in the field that suit this position...But it is not that they thought only Lewis can do the job but also because Lewis by that time was the only one available...Fernando was still at Ferrari trying to beat the Red Bull and why on earth would Seb leave the winning car half way? So by coincidence Lewis was unhappy at McLaren and easy to convince to join them. It is neither that Mercedes said "Lewis or nobody" like some want to make us believe nore the wise foresight of Lewis being convinced that this is the only car abvle to win in near future. So beside the talent putting him into the small circle of selected (3 out of the 5 mentioned above were driving back then) it was also good timing and so also luck that brought him into todays Mercedes. One should not forget that with this general "the best end in the best car" as Alonso is a proof that weak timing can kill your career. Or look at next year: I said 4 or 5 people are in the group of potential WDCs but most likely not all of them (although every one of them would deserve it) will sit in a car giving him the posibility to win the title...
Seb caught the first of his overtakes within three laps, and was 11 seconds behind him at the start of his run....... elton didnt
I wouldn’t vote against the Raging Bull next season, that’s for sure. He’s ready to take over the mantle of “best driver on the grid” sooner than later. If the Renault (?) engine gives them anything, look out!
For sure, and you don't have to have the lateral-thinking ability of a nuclear physicist, to work it out....but if this thread is anything to go by, scratch that haha
You skipped the part about the ailing car with broken diffuser. You're basically saying that Vettel is a much better driver and that he can drive 3-4 seconds per lap faster than most of the field. You do realize that Vettel lost the championship or are you still dreaming about winning the title? It must sting to know that you had the best car, "best driver", teammate that only helps and moves out the way, FIA assistance with no penalties and you still managed to lose the championship. You lost to a driver that SUCKS in a slower car...LOL
Yes I am sure the diffuser was sooooo damaged. Lol you keep on buying Toto's BS. Simple thinking. It was funny watching him get blue flagged and lapped on his day of glory and struggling to pass a McLaren. That's all.
Well this post just exposed you. Anyone that honestly believes the Ferrari is a faster car than the Mercedes is completely out to lunch. What is this "FIA Assistance" you're talking about? Was that when the FIA protected Merc by banning Ferrari's innovative floor and oil burning concepts? Oh yeah. Bet you forgot about that. Also, you don't think Bottas is a #2 and moves out of the way? He played tail gunner for Lewis many times this year. He is a clear #2 driver. You would have to be blind to think otherwise. Also, please post how many times Raikkonen "moved over" for Vettel this year. I think you might have trouble finding even a single example. Back to the drawing board for you lol
