Agreed! Now the car is safely tucked away in an Fchatters home I'm sure she'll be making more appearances on here soon.
Just out of interest, what's it like to drive a 360 with the sunroof open - is it just slide or does it have a tilt option? That roof looks a strange shape and I wondered about the air buffeting Were sunroofs ever an option on 430s?
It pops out like a hatch. Then it can be stored behind the seats or in the frunk (the reason for the odd shape) where it's a snug fit. No air or wind sound you hear from it. It's tight sealed with a pretty dense rubber molding. You don't even know it's there from the inside unless you purposely look up. No rattles or any sound of any sort when it's on. When it's off, of course you'll hear the wind but not loud. There's a small wind deflector that popup to reduce the noise when it's open.
I've driven one a few times and I do think it's a great option. I don't mind that it's manual ..... one less thing to go wrong! For some reason, in all the pics you see of sunroof cars, the bag/case is always missing. I'm not sure I'd want to drive around with the panel behind the seats if I didn't have the case, especially since the panel is painted unlike my 328.
Yup, I agree their always missing but I'm not sure if it's really missing or only an optional accessory. This is minuscule and easily resolved by going to an upholstery shop and having them make one for less than $200. That's what I did with mine and nobody could tell if it's genuine Ferrari or not because almost nobody knows how the genuine sunroof bag supposed to look because of it's ultra rarity. Of course, a simple google search will help but nobody knows the looks on the fly.
I wanted one but there wasn't one available when I was ready to buy. It does take away a bit of the headroom clearance but we don't hear about people having an issue very often in our cars. Here are some good reference pics I have saved. Kevin - nice pics. The above black 360 is in my garage at the moment With the black cars at least, you can hardly see the outline of the panel when it's on the car. I've seen a few threads where someone was claiming it was a 13K or 16K option, but I do have a window sticker showing that it was a $3,395 line item ..... which was less than the gas guzzler tax!
The first owner is probably very special to receive a "N/C" in their window sticker. Very rarely you see that considering that Ferrari even charges for inflating the tires.
