With out seeming rude, Pickles to me, isn't one of the recognized classic car Auction Houses in the same way Mecum in the US, great for "run of the Mill" cars
II sure some will chip in here but Australia doesn't actually have a "High end Classic car Auction House"
Having said that Moss Green did a good Job at MC.

I think Bonhams is still in Melbourne but they stopped doing the cars.......The only specialists here in my view are Shannons and Moss Green.........

Have you ever driven a that model,6 volt Kombi.

It's as much fun as getting teeth extracted.

A mate had one for work, ute,I was his labourer,brickies,...we had to leave home 2 hours before 7 AM start to go from Pymble to Lakemba,in those days it used to take a 'normal' car about 3/4 of an hour!

The Muira is now at CTS....unless there are two yellow ones for sale in Aussie at the same time..

The Phase 3/Countach were referred so some of those numbers are post auction sales not numbers from the night. That might explain why they delayed the results waiting for all negotiations to finish.

480k for the countach I thought was cheap considering the asking prices FMS, duttons and CTS wanted when they had one for sale.

He owned it 20 years ago according to the blurb. I LOL'd at the $44k spent in 2008 for mechanical work done by Laki Harris. Glad I wasn't the only one to receive a bill from him [emoji12]

Sooo does owning a car from a noted marque enthusiast make it worth any more or less than one owned by a 'noname'?

Perhaps if you're the next bar one or so in a short term period.

The only reason I bought the ex PP car was because it was owned by him, hadn't done a lot of milage since his term and consequent large expenditure on it.

The fact that Jack (lovely bloke) owned this Dino 20 years prior really doesn't come into the equation of being worth more value in this case...IMO.
