I just found my old interior color chart I made up over a decade ago! Image Unavailable, Please Login
OK fwiw for the Silhouette there were two standard colour schemes 1/nero comprising nero door cards and seat sides with grigio squabs and 2/naturale comprising senape door cards and seat side with naturale squabs. I was thinking that your naturale 1 might actually be senape ie part of a naturale colour scheme. That said there also seems to have been some laxity in describing an interior as naturale or senape depending on the data set.
what's the history of that? i know very little about the factory Jota conversions. Maybe ill have to re-read that part of the miura bible.
Laxity is the operative word as it relates to the description of colors in general, certainly then, and sometimes even now.
An important message for Alberto who is/was owning this car, the Picture we once found with BL-Registration is really 1021, I got it confirmed by the chief mechanic of Monteverdi, he once drove this car to the Owner Hopf from Monteverdi Garage to the owners home which was not Basel but Binningen where also Monteverdi resided his whole life. Mr Hopf's racing Team was called Hoba Racing, he was sponsoring quite some Gentlemen Driver's that time.
Raymond: I still own 1021. Thank you so much for the confirmation that the picture posted is of 1021. I am very excited that I now have a confirmed period picture of the car! Wine is on me when we finally meet. I cannot remember who posted them (was it you?). Here they are again. I just noticed a few things; I might have to remake the CH sticker on the lower rear valence. Also, it seems like someone left a note on the driver's side wiper for Dr. Hopf. Can anyone identify the driver's side mirror? So we can now say that these are period pictures of Miura 1021, the 9th Miura built, the first imported to Switzerland. Kind of has a nice ring to it. Albert, Could you please confirm whether the chassis plate and the riveted plate show 01021 or 1021. Many thanks...
I am away from the car and I'd rather not guess so I cannot tell you the format for the welded chassis number. As to the riveted plate, 1021 did not come with a riveted plate and it is my belief that none of the prototype (the first 5) or pre-production cars (the following 7) had riveted chassis plates. The earliest car that I have seen that has a riveted chassis plate is 1066 (car #14). The riveted plate for 1066 says 1066. I do not have a picture of the welded plate for 1066 at the moment, and I do not recall the format for it.
Many thanks. If you do get the opportunity to get to see either welded plate that would be really interesting. And thanks for your observations about the lack of riveted plates on the early cars...
S/N# 4972 SV arrived in Calgary this weekend. It looks INCREDIBLE From what I've been told, its the Jay Kay car fully restored and now in the original LH Drive configuration. http://www.kulumotorcar.com/car-detail.asp?id=1505
CP's Miura P400 fully-restored back to factory-original spec, approaching completion, a stunning P400. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I've never seen one secured in that manner before. Probably worked fine, but tying the front wheels down like that make me think about it for a few seconds.
I sold it earlier this year, when it was still undergoing its restoration... which was achieved one day before Neuchâtel Lamborghini Concours of Elegance, where I invited my Customer to register his car... He was so happy to win the " Miura S Class" - no influence from me as I didn't have to judge that Class - ... All this happened, thanks to the excellent work achieved by our top French team...
