Black w/ stripe 5500 miles at EM is it worth a 50k premium over the 12 - 14k red stripe ones at 170 - 185k.

The nero car at Beverly hills sold to a local customer in one day apparently. Was asking $220k and my understanding is the purchase was over $200k.

The car at EM seems to be priced out of the market with its $270k asking price.

The same thing that's wrong with all collectible cars right now.... There are too many of them. I've seen a decline with all of them.

I get that, but this high bid seems very low and was wondering why this particular car might be so low.

the auction was poor- 40% of cars no sale and of those that sold, 75% went for below the lowest estimate. Was mostly lower priced cars that sold. Towards the end of day two, a number of cars pulled their reserves down to sell. That car was mine. Nothing wrong with it. It's a good car. I just wanted to sell to buy other stuff but didn't need to sell and so I didn't move my reserve down. Auctioneer made numerous comments that audience was full of people not bidding. Normally it's an OK auction. Last time I put two cars in, they both sold. Hope this helps

Good post and totally reasonable. The next question is "why was the action poor"? I feel there are a lot of auctions nowadays. Is it a good place to try and sell a car anymore?

Silverstone Auctions tend to be better at the more reasonable end of the market- so, older 'normal' Porsche and fast Fords etc which are really popular in the UK now. They sold for me a while ago my F 308 Vet and my DeTomaso Mangusta which were probably pretty unusual cars for them. This particular auction though was blighted by hundreds of people who attended for a 'look' rather than to buy and most of the bids came from the phone or internet. Of course, also, November in the UK is a pretty miserable time to be thinking of buying a supercar when it's dark all the time and raining and cold. All that said, my CS now has an offer on it post auction and may well sell. If it doesn't I will be happy to have it back. If it does then I have other cars to console myself
