    The car in the OP has a straight front bumper and smaller grill lights. It looks more like a Boano or Ellena to me.

    Yes, i was just referring to Geno's question on the side vents not suggesting this is the actual car. I agree it looks more like an Boano but I don't think Boano's or Ellena's came with a hood scoop

    Abe you misunderstood my question. All 410SA have the fender vent from what I know. I was referring to John V's comment that it way be a 250 Special. I than posted a pic of a 250 Special Continental was selling once for a song, stating there is usually no vents found on a 250 Special. Now we know it's a 410SA. I too thought that it has a Boano front when I first looked at it. Boano's hood scoops are placed more toward the front of the hood them on a 410SA so that threw me off looking at the pic initially. 410SA series 1's are really special Ferraris!

    There is at least one Series I that has no side vents. I don't know the number, it's pine green, initially French.

    Though it’s listed on Rocky Santiago’s site as being sold, I don’t truly believe it ever got sold. Gino’s very recent pictures were shot in the very same city as where the very long term owner of 0489 SA lives. Very strange coincidence . . .

    The 410 has always fascinated me.
    What were they like to drive?
    I know they advertised quite a high top speed but how did they handle?
    Were they a good smooth ride at/near top speed?
    I can't recall ever seeing a road test on one of these machines.

    Bob: I was lucky enough to own a Series III 410SA for almost 20 years, and have restored and driven numerous others. . As to performance, think 427 Corvette. Power everywhere, all the time. The engine just never quit pulling. As to handling, it was a fairly heavy car (3,210 lbs with spare and toolkit, but no fuel). It drove much like any of the late 50s Ferraris, with understeer, but stable. The faster you went the more smooth the ride. As to top speed, I was never that stupid or brave. We know the Harrah Series III car was clocked at 165 mph. Remember, a Series III 410 weighs about 400 lbs LESS than a Daytona and has 50 MORE BHP. Enough said.

    So guys do I win a prize? Interesting angle on the original pictures, I didn't realise the Pininfarina SA bodywork has rear wings that descend so low towards the rear, most pictures are taken at a higher or lower angle and this is not clear. Assuming the bodywork was repaired after the Mascarenhas 1956 crash in its original style that is....
