This shows how the 812 compares in size with the 488 and also the color difference between the Anni red to the more orange Corsa red

Finally drove an 812 on a closed track today, unfortunately complete with black holes, and the simple report is that it moves the game on in sheer performance terms in the same way the F12 moved it on from the 599. I recall driving the two back to back and thinking how the 599 heeled like a ship in a storm in the corners in comparison to the F12 which felt so much flatter. In that one area the 812 moves it on again markedly and now the F12 feels like that old ship. It's the same everywhere else, most every element just improved, the steering that much sharper, the engine that much angrier, the gearbox that bit quicker, the engine noise that much less and the cabin that much worse.

I'm sorry to hark back on this point again, but now I have driven and inspected a production car, and yes it is better finished than the Geneva cars, but sitting in an F12 is just a so much better and nicer place to be with less plastic and more style. It remains the most disappointing element of the car and I simply cannot get over the off centre dashboard stripe.

I forgot to add the difference to the tdf. To me the 812 cements the Tdf's position as the most visceral and exciting car Ferrari has produced since the F40, redolent of more of Enzos DNA than any other contemporary model. And then there's the looks, that perfect mutation of Pininfarinas design mutated by the Manzoni virus, a perfect bridge between two design styles.

The 812 is an exceptional car, an incredible achievement to make that level of performance so accessible and one wonders anew how they move it on from here. With the exception of the interior and to a lesser degre the exterior, dynamically it must score a 10 in every department. Wonderful.

It's just that the tdf scores an 11 and that definitely includes the cabin and the body. So violent, so raw, so much more visceral,, so much a Ferrari. Outstanding.

I don’t think anyone will argue this point.
Let’s see if a LE 812 appears in three years.
That model may give the TDF some serious competition

I am doing TDF after toying with Pozzi.I had a close look at the HR Owen demonstrator a couple of days ago.The spec is quite similar to yours if you go black interior.Main difference is that it has red highlights rather than yellow. You have probably seen it but if not have a look.Dick Lovett have the same spec.
The black interior and general spec work better than I thought they would but it is not my thing (probably age related).I particularly dislike the black wheel/red calliper combination on exterior.
If you go black and yellow interior and you like black wheel/yellow calliper I think it will be fine.If you go more traditional Daytona sports seats in a lighter colour then I would reconsider wheel/calliper combination.
Just my thoughts. As you posted specs I assume you are looking for opinions.
No spec is right or wrong if you love it !

Yeah absolutely looking for views, thanks for your input. I do agree some of it is age related. I think this car looks really good with black wheels but have noticed a lot of people disagree, so I'm aware I'm in the minority. I do agree with Daytona seats one would probably want to ditch the black wheels as otherwise it's a bit aggressive on the outside compared to a more "traditional" interior.
I do like the HR Owen demonstrator, but I think the choice of yellow over the red works better. Plus there will probably be a lot of cars in the same spec as the HR Owen over time and personally, I'd rather avoid that.

Definitely do yellow accents rather than red.
My thoughts when speccing were that you can go 3 ways with this car traditional GT,ultra modern GT or aggressive road racer.
All 3 work but it is when you try to pull elements from more than one it can become a bit messy.

Two very different specs. you need to decide are you going GT or Sports as a look. Personally, I think this cars interior takes a lighter interior (GT look) infinitely better and you simply cannot get worse than black holes and red callipers in my eyes!

Tdf blue my favorite for obvious reasons but your interior options are a toss up, I like them both. I get tons of compliments on our TDF blue and Sabbia CaliTHS. Good luck

Ultra Modern GT :standard seats, leather interior, coloured accents inside, non tdf wheels in metallic colour etc

Aggressive Road Racer :alcantara interior, sports seats, carbon inside and out, black wheels, coloured callipers, harnesses, fire extinguisher etc

Just my way of approaching the task of speccing.I thought hard about how I would use the car, which of my three categories it should fall into.
I then tried to let form follow function.
Having said that I decided on Traditional GT and have specced pretty close to a TDF 550 I regret selling !!!

Agreed, I was surprised it was so quiet, it just feels much stronger but the sound seems more muted from the cabin.
