I'm in the process of putting my 308 engine back in and for the life of me I cannot be sure where all the wires go  Totally my fault as I did not take the photos I should have when taking the engine out. Below are some photos of the wires from the Alternator, from the chassis harness, and from the starter. I labelled all of the wires and harnesses and kindly ask if someone could please let me know what the correct wiring sequence would be. Many thanks.

guessing cause my gt4 is different, a1/ c1 and c2 to s2, a2 to c4. and c3 to either one of s1 or s4 that is soldered to the solenoid spade connector. btw a1 and a2 harness lays behind the dipstick tube if you have a early carbed and route it to the solenoid

though not sure if the green c1 would go to s2, the green looks like a ground

Green C1 goes directly to the positive terminal on the battery. I'm pretty sure the wiring should be as follows:

    A1, C1, C2 - goes to terminal S2 on the starter

    C4 plugs into A2

C3 plugs into spade terminal S1 on the starter

Can anyone confirm this please before I start a fire :p

Let us know. When I did mine I had the spade on the wrong side and there was no ignition. Swapped sides of the spade and it started right up

I’m at least a week away from cranking the engine but feel confident the wiring is ok. I will post if there are any problems

Massive service including new exhaust valves and engine bay detailing. I’ll make a separate thread about it later. As with most things I got carried away

Very interested in your rebuild Rob. I think our cars are close as I am 20433. Heading down the same path.
