You're right- but I think its just human nature to compare what came right before to what comes next and even though Ferrari doesn't say it- I think many of us wonder- gee, could the 812 be like a TDF but a little easier to drive and live with.. But we all should know better: each one of these cars has its own unique personality. The F12b is not a 599 GTO and the 812 is not an F12TDF. Everyone I know who has driven a TDF (not me so far!) says its just incredible. I find myself wanting one as well as the 812- and for different reasons!

and yet for the resale price of a tdF you could have a blue 812 and a grey 812 plus a nice addition to the amount of garage floor space. Perhaps even a "Ferrari" garage!

Perhaps one could order the dash without the stripe.
Or else do the stripe in a matching color without contrasting stitching..Then it tends not to catch the eye.

Just looking at the black one above, the stipe seems to be bang in the middle of the car? Draw a line from the badge on the front of the car. I think the stripe is actually centre and it's the other parts inside that are not? Could be wrong, just throwing it out here....

That is why I ordered mine in Nero Daytona. Understated color but ominous looking.

stunning, I have also ordered 'blu pozzi' and silver TDF wheels, but interior a mix between sterling and nero with silver stitch and Daytona fixed racing buckets.

Yes that is what I believe to be the case too.

Traveller dislikes the off centre appearance of the stripe relative to the two air duct vents.
The F12 and the TDF had a three duct cluster.

I like Nero Daytona and Nero non metallic. I think the non metallic Nero might be even more attractive on the 812. Of course a glossy black is much more difficult to maintain.

It is amazing how you get used to new design. In the early pictures around the time the car was released I really did not think Giallo suited the car but looking at the video it looks pretty good.
Not going to choose it but surprised that a design I initially liked has grown on me even more with familiarity.

Does anyone have any experience with Beige Tradizione. Would wet jeans for example stain it? I've been driving a mercedes for years with red inside and not had any problems but have heard with Ferrari crema there can be issues. Is the Beige the same? If you do get a stain can you get it off?

Another detail is the missing shields in the matt example @ 4:50. First car without shields.

I had Beige on a 550 that I ran for about 8 years.Don't think that that leather is quite the same as the current Beige Tradizione but it wore incredibly well and I had no problems with it.In cars of that age lighter colour leather seems to wear better than darker leather in a lot of cases.

I don't like it either. It is not lined up with the center of the car which is easy to see because the transmission bridge does line up. I would see if they could make the entire dash in one piece of leather or then to skip the contrasting stripe.
