Well its been just over a year since I joined FChat. About a year and a half ago I started seeing Ferrari 360's with in my budget so I figured I should start researching and wound up here.

I love this site and the folks I have "chated" with, probably made a few mad and a few laugh at me which is all good and fun in my world. I have gained a great deal of knowledge during my short stay here with the help of reading through many threads about different Ferraris. I have received information help from the goods folks around Las Vegas which I really appreciate.

Some things I have learned. First and foremost yes I can afford to buy a Ferrari. But the second thing and most important is that I can not afford to own a Ferrari. There would be a chance it could end up a piece of garage art. This is something my wife told me a while back but of course I didn't listen to her. I also learned that I really do not want a 360 but I would prefer a 458 possibly a 430. Really out of my price range at this point in life. These are things I am glad I learned now and not after having bought what could have been a mistake.

Anyway this is a great community, one I am glad I stumbled into during my Ferrari dream. I hope you all don't mind if I continue to hang around even though it doesn't look good for myself being a Ferrari owner any time soon.

Oh and I have to add:
    Go Lions!
    Go Raiders!

shoot out winner last night. Rookie goal keeper Stuban stops all three. Knights' record for an expansion franchise is nothing short of unbelievable.

I am going to have to go to a game. I bought a inaugural hokey puck the other night, so now I need to so see an actual game. I have talked my wife into it as well. I have seen 2 shoot out in the last couple of week. Great fun to see on TV.

    Go Knights!

Scott I would tell you not to get too scared about owning a Ferrari from this board. Alot of guys talk alot and I genuinely mean that. I bought a 575 recently and I was having a talk with one of the greatest independent Ferrari dealers in the US, the guy who owned the shop and has sold thousands over the years. He personally took me over to one of the best indy shops near us and we dicussed the running costs on the 575 and they did the major for me before giving me the car, it was $2500 total for the major.....on a V12 Ferrari, how scary. From here for the next 5 years or 30k miles assuming nothing goes wrong it needs just fluids changed annually, which is under $1k/year. The reality is, and both of them told me this, going to the Ferrari dealer is just a waste of money, I have all the receipts for my car from day 1. The previous owner was paying $7300 at a Ferrari dealer for the major and I paid $2500, actually I paid $0 bc they included it in the sale but thats the receipt I got.

Lots of guys scare people about costs of owning a Ferrari. You know what my insurance is? Mind you im still searching for an agreed value policy but right now my 575 is at state farm for $425 every 6 months as a 2nd car at my vacation home. Scary too?

Im fairly confident over the next couple years ownership shouldn't be too scary bc the shop I was introduced too charges $90/hr labor. Ferrari dealerships charge way too much there, but thats any dealer not just Ferrari. Either way all I will say is dont get too worked up by what the forums tell you that you can and can't afford. You only live once, if you want a Ferrari and make decent money, do it. Life is short, and owning a Ferrari is a hell of a lot cheaper than a wife, believe me, I have both.

Whew, I was wondering when you'd give your beloved Lions a shout out! [emoji3] Great post. Hope your Ferrari dream comes true. Mine did about 18 months ago, thanks in large part to the knowledge gained on this forum
Sometimes you gotta just say "F*** it!" & go for it.

Always great to have nice people. This is the best forum online. Heck I was here on the board for 12.5 years before I bought my car!
