^^^That is just tragic!
I'm sure some of the purists will dislike the new design language for the car but it will appeal to the younger generation. I assume that is the official launch colour (Silly Silver) and interesting there are no stripes.
And to think, someone stood back with their arms folded, gently nodding their head and said to themselves "Mmm... that looks great!"

Baldauf/SB-Medien Ferrari will likely revive the "GTO" badge for its hardcore send-off of the 488 mid-engine supercar, and new photos showed what we can expect from the final 488 variant. Motor.es published photos last Monday of the 2019 Ferrari 488 GTO, and while some were hidden by heavy camouflage, one car was almost completely uncovered. The uncovered car showcased a sharper front end than the you'll find on the 488 GTB. Like we saw in previous spy shots, the intakes at the edges of the front end are larger, though the fascia is slightly less gaping than on the 488 GTB. The other photos hide the hardcore supercar pretty well. As for power, previous spy shots showed a completely covered engine, which means the 488 GTO will likely undergo some major changes. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login The familiar 3.9-liter twin-turbo V-8 engine will still report for duty, but power is expected to increase from 660 horsepower to 700 hp. We previously proposed the hardcore 488 could utilize a hybrid system similar to the LaFerrari's KERS-type unit. It can recover energy from both the engine and under braking. Additional updates will likely include enhanced aerodynamics and chassis tweaks. Ferrari will almost certainly work to shave weight from the car since competitors, such as McLaren, have outgunned the 488 GTB. The GTO name last appeared on the 599 GTO in 2010. It recalls the 288 GTO of the 1980s and the 250 GTO of the 1960s. Its revival would be quite fitting since the "O" in "GTO" actually stands for "Omologato," or "homologation" in Italian. Ferrari does race the 488, and we're absolutely OK with a race-inspired variant before the 488's successor debuts around 2020. We may see the 2019 488 GTO debut at the 2018 Geneva motor show.
"Marchionne said all Ferraris sold from 2019 will have some hybrid elements.” out of: http://www.autonews.com/article/2016...erraris-volume hopefully they really want to be first with Hybrid Tech in the Super Sports Car region. I do have no money for a Hypercar. So until today i have never driven any kind of Hybrid vehicle. I could live with it if the first hybrid i have to drive will be a 488GTO and not a Prius.
Exciting article. While I've expressed doubt that they would use the "GTO" moniker for this car, I personally would love if they did. It would defiantly increase my desire for the car. I'm not really certain if the article affirmed the use of KERS or not. Maybe I just read it wrong? As far as aero goes, I just hope it is very aggressive yet tasteful. It will be more of a challenge with the 488 than the 458 because the 488 GTB is already very aggressive (where I always thought of the 4598 Italia as more elegant).
i see it as an easy task to give a 488GTB a more aggressive look but yeah... tasteful is a question of taste. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

thank you for sharing! "The test car also sports blacked-out headlamps for a more menacing look." for me they seem quite the same as at the 488. is there any option on the 488 for "black" headlamps?
Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Agreed. I don’t know why they are saying that. Here are photos showing my 488 GTB headlamps, which are already blacked out. There are no other options relating to them, to answer your question.
Yes, I have had one for a 488 GTO Aperta since August. I accepted a 70th Anniversary car from Ferrari and an invitation to Maranello for the 70th. birthday bash. I have no doubt that the car will be something very special and am looking forward to driving her...... Hopefully in the not too distant future.
No Hybrid system Big sound improvement New carrozzeria components/materials Decent power increase I was told by a very reliable source (to be confirmed, at least this apply for American market): -Factory will send clients list to dealers too inform who can get the car. -Have a 488 is a must
I'm not too sure about this. You might have a commitment from your dealer, but Ferrari NA hasn't issued allocations for even the coupe as of yet. If you honestly have an allocation, please correct me. I too went to Italy for the 70th bash, and went to Italy for the Portofino and the 812 SF and run 6 Corso Pilotas and did the Tribute rally, and the 70th rally, and the Mondiale Rally, and bought a Lusso, FF, Cal T, 488, 458 Speciale, and TDF - and I don't have an allocation for the planned coupe let alone the Aperta no one is sure will even exist.
-100% it will be called the 488 GTO. -will be faster then the Laferrari or at least match its times I can't wait till the 488 GTO gets revelaved. I will be more surprised if they DON'T call it the 488 GTO then if they do. I'll be one of the first people commenting on this thread as soon as we find out and if I'm wrong ill take it like a man and admit it. At this moment however I'm sitting back without a doubt in my mind that it will be the 488 GTO.
Looks like standard fair cosmetics and not anything like what's been talked about here. Someone even posted a GT car track video - wing and all - as part of the buildup. Beginning to think better be nothing short of magical in all respects including faster than LaF, numbered edition and GTO moniker or major letdown coming. Will be much closer to what I've previously posted.
It will be what the Speciale was to the 458, a more focused version, not a race car. It won't even close to the LaFerrari.
Dini said they are working on a hybrid V6, so I don't understand why some websites still talk about hybrid V8s for the next 488 hardcore variant.
