    Hi Guys,

So my car is driving fine however I have hooked up my computer and get a lot of codes for my transmission, suspension etc ... seems not to be communicating with the ecu or transmission control unit. I have attached a screen shot of my codes. I bought this car secondhand a couple months ago and slowly fixing her up.

As I said car runs fine ... I suspect I will need to replace the suspension so am going with the KW setup. Just worried about the other codes ... anyone had these before?

Any help would be appreciated. Been a headache.

George, what car? You may be better having some with a factory SD connect and have a look.

    Sorry bud completely forgot ...

    It’s a F430 2007-2008...

I was just thinking of replacing the transmission control unit.

Problem is the engine gets tuned by Project A on Saturday for the exhaust and headers...

Be extremely careful with this. If the car is driving fine..then I would suggest you have a scan tool problem and not a car problem. Ferrari really likes to play with protocols which can produce false codes in none specific scan tools. Have the car scanned with a specific tool before spending any money on a tcu to confirm the faults and perameters.

As tbakowski has said, if the car drives fine and the transmission is shifting as it should, then there is nothing wrong with the transmission control unit. The fault is with your scanner, and it is not communicating with the transmission and differential ECU's.
Have the car scanned with a known good Ferrari specific diagnostic tool (SD3, Leonardo) before doing anything else. You probably don't have to replace the suspension either. Diagnose it properly before making any changes.

I doubt that little OBD II scanner can talk to the suspension or transmission ECU (TCU). Take it to somebody with a real tool like an SD2 or Leonardo.

Ok thanks for the info guys.. I guess the non communication codes make sense. But how about the suspension failure code?

Suspect the KW suspension upgrade would be a good option anyway. ;)

    Terry - he has a 430. Needs and SD3 or SDX. SD2 doesn't cover 430's

Agree..simple, gets the job done with zero need for electronic garbage to make it work. However the autobox in the later cars is something to behold. They work amazingly well, until they don't. Then they rip your wallet straight outta your hands

Most problems with F1 are the result of lack of regular maintenance. Ferrari did not figure this out until the 599 came out when the first recommendation for regular fluid changes and bleeding came out.

I'd also add that it's people working on the system that don't have the proper tools or knowledge. I'm going on 5 years with no fluid change and my F1 operates flawlessly. Now that I have an SD2 I will change the fluid this coming spring.

I am pretty sure you can still change the fluid, just takes longer

Are you getting a warning light in the instrument cluster? Any at all?

As before that's an OBD2 scanner. It will only give you Check Engine Light emission codes.
