Well, its on an entirely different platform. I think its more than semantics. It really is a new model. I suppose you could say its not a new model in that it shares the same mission as the California. However, then, by that logic the 360 and 458 and so forth are not new models.

Formula of the day. Portofino's expected top speed based on comparison to California T, using data provided by Ferrari.

    316 kph * ∛(600/560 hp * Cd 0.33/0.312 * 1910/1938 mm * 1322/1318 mm) = 328 kph

The frontal area change calculation is based on max width and height figures only, but gives anyway a quite good estimate of the change on these similarly proportioned cars.

California T has slightly larger frontal area than California.

    California T
    Width: 1910 mm
    Height: 1322 mm

These were used in my calculation.

I use one called happy VPN but google proxy servers and look for ones that are popular and that have servers in a variety of countries for example the UK. Is very simple to set-up.

If Tesla were to redesign the unibody, chassis, battery and electric motors, put a new interior, and claim its a whole new platform- it can do more etc... will you challenge such a statement if the exterior dimensions remain similar to what came before?

Ferrari says its a whole new platform and it would make sense as the prior platform is nearly 10 years old.

Purchasing etiquette questions for a first time Ferrari buyer:

    1. Do I have to purchase from my closest dealer, even if I can get an allocation or better deal at another dealer?
    2. If I do purchase from another dealer, will my local dealer still honor the 7 year service with the car?
    3. Is there any room for negotiation on price?

    Thank you

I understood that the PF is a new chassis, indeed, one of the reasons they found the weight savings. If you look back to 599/F12, I think the overall dimensional difference was only an inch or so in length and width, not dissimilar to the the Cali/PF. Front engined, folding metal roof, 2+2 GT with a sensible boot and family traits, will tend towards a not that dissimilar look and size.

No. I think it's only decoration. This is the dealers configurator.

    1. You don't have to, but your value (and therefore perks) at a dealer are based on repeat business, so it's typically best to pick a dealer and stick with them.

    2. As long as they're all official Ferrari dealers, yes.

    3. No. Not ever really. They'll sell every car they make and so don't need to offer deals or negotiate.
