I miss the open air of my old 360 spyder. So I was thinking of upgrading my 458 to a 458 spyder (plus the stock market is making it an easy purchase).

I am not good with numbers, do spyder prices at dealers go down during the winter? In other words does the spyder premium shrink during winter?

Or would natural depreciation make it more likely the spyder I want will cost less in the spring? It will be that much closer to 2019 models after all. Can;t drive much before March-April.

Not sure if the 488 GTO will do much to the 458 spider market. Not sure how much more natural depreciation will continue the 488 spider is already out and available. I do also think more people get the itch around march or April and dealer are aware of that and firm up their proces. I think if you find the car you like spect perfect jump on it right away if you are ready.

The 458 models will depreciate further but not significantly in my opinion.

Even factoring in depreciation, I think it's a great buy at the low $200k range that they are going for nowadays.

I would think Spyder prices do drop in the winter in New Jersey, where you seem to be located. Do note that the 458 market is definitely a buyer's market if you are willing to shop outside of your region. So don't compromise on spec!

Thanks everyone. I guess I agree that running across one equipped exactly as you want is more important than other factors. Hate to part with my 2010 with the original engine mapping but people say the open top improves the sound experience of the later 458 for the driver.

Top down rowing through the gears at 9000 RPM is orgasmic. Hit a long tunnel and you would swear it sounds just like an F1 car.
