I think it's hilarious that Joe is once again downplaying fuel injected Countaches as well as insulting Allan's character. He brings up pink cowboy hats when you Google Allan but yet when you Google Joe class action lawsuits show up....

Wow. Its funny to see that you have resorted to personal insults . I must have really gotten under your skin. If you feel my lifestyle is that of a wanna-be poser, then so be it. Remember I feel the same in regards to your self-proclaimed "Historian" status as do many others. Its funny to see you post links to threads a decade old. I do admit I was a bit of wild card in those days, but times have changed and fortunately the only person I argue with these days, is the guy who tried to sell me a Countach with no needs at a $50k mark up, that needed approx $70k worth of repairs.

You can post ALL the names you'd like, none of it means much to anyone. Maybe you could pay Valentino to come on Fchat and tell everyone his opinions on the Fuelie/DD debate. Its laughable that you insinuate I STAGED a picture, or would publicly lie about the information Valentino gave me.

I suggest instead of posting pics of cars you have for sale, take some time to relax and unwind. Enjoy a bad cigar, and some cheap whiskey. You might enjoy it.

Allan, who doesn't own a Downdraft, decided to come on the the Downdraft thread and I'm simply responding, meanwhile the class action was redundant years ago as there was a reason I was dismissed on the basis that my involvement had no merit ;) Speaking of redundant, your presence here is similarly redundant as you don't own a Downdraft nor do you have anything positive to contribute to this thread. Anyone who posts here in a disparaging or negative basis can only expect one kind of response :)

I'm certain you have spent way more than $70k on that Fuelie you bought, the car you were offered years ago (not directly by me) was a Downdraft, even if it needed $70k worth of work, wouldn't you have been better off investing the money in that particular Downdraft which is now worth at least double what your car is? :D

Now we can see why you are so twisted.

Look I've said it before but let me explain it this way, kids always go to the house of the kids with the cool toys. The fact that you keep coming here underscores your previous statement that you'd love to have a Downdraft, and the fact that you come here to disparage them establishes you as a hypocrite. Plain and simple.

    Merry Christmas :)

Then why do you post in the F/I section? Obviously you wish you bought a fuelie...

I can promise to never post in the Fuelie section so far as Fuelie owners are not in the Downdraft thread disparaging the Downdraft ;) and I have never for one second wished I bought a Fuelie instead of a Downdraft :D

I've seen you on more than one occasion make disparaging remarks about fuel injected Countaches. It's also sad to see that you're a huge name dropper when it comes to Valentino. You continuously drop Valentino's name as a way to give your words credence in this thread and others. This thread has turned into a revolving door of repeated posts of the same images and information posted multiple times over.

My presence is redundant? I've paid for a few years membership since being on here. I will read and comment what I like and where I like and call it how I see it. Joe, let's be real. You make many comments relating to cars you don't and haven't owned and touching on old subjects, have given misinformation about other peoples' cars that you haven't even seen. Didn't you just comment in the fuel injected thread the other day? When did you pick one up?

Also, you should add "fortune teller" to your resume along with "Historian". I'm glad you see through your crystal ball what cars I own or am in the process of acquiring.

Totally, in so far as you don't own a Downdraft, or, at least continue anything meaningful about the thread's topic, the Downdraft.

And you've just proven my point ;) nothing meaningful to contribute to this thread's topic :D your presence here is truly redundant.

Interesting that you find fault with me mentioning the name of Valentino who I work with regularly and have known for 20 years, yet you use a photo with him to promote your IG page. Now that's hilarious.

Promote? My **** is set on private lol. And it's mostly my friends that follow me-nobody I'm trying to impress there. Am, I starting to get under your skin Joe?

I just mentioned name dropping. You do it quite often.

    Ciao.

Over 30 years I have been fortunate to meet, interview, get to know, and work with a number of significant men-behind-the-machines, from the CEO of Lamborghini, to the Chief Engineer, to the Chief Test Driver and more besides, some of them have become friends, others have a working relationship with me, so, you'd better get used to it, the chances are I will continue to name-drop for a long time ;) don't let that get under your skin.

The point I was previously making which you are trying to deflect is, you take fault at me mentioning Valentino often, a person I have known for @ 20 years as a friend and with whom I have an ongoing business association with to this day, yet, you on the other hand who barely know him are using a posed image with him as the avatar image for your IG page, let me put it succinctly - that's first-class hypocrisy, but clearly that's lost on you :D

Andreas Birner just posted this Downdraft which I have posted several times before, searching for it's identity, his comments:

"In 1985, this spectacular Lamborghini Countach 5000 QV had obviously been sold new in Paris to a foreigner who drove it around in the French capital on export plates. Does anyone among the Lamborghini experts happen to know this car and its current whereabouts?"

This is a 1985 as evidenced by the front fender turn-signal position.

I've seen images of it variously on French temporary plates, French export plates, French normal registration and Geneva plates.

Several people would love to know.

    Another nice Christmas present.

John just tells it like it should be told, and drives it like it should be driven.

    Bravo.

This car sounds amazing. great video, cool duude, . In the event of a roadtrip,do you fill it up at local private airfields(high octane/lead) as you go along? Never had this problem with my fuelie, pulls amazing on pump gas, must be the more modern induction,in combination with the big 4 valve engine, best of both worlds.in the most amazing car ,ever.

I think John was just stating his desire or preference to use high grade plugs & gas, both of which would help any V12 near of that era, Fuelie Countachs included.

FWIW it’s not that difficult to get quality plugs and gas, so the next time you plan a road trip in your Countach, you can fill up prior to leaving, but if you must fill up @ private jet airfields think of it as an adventure worth having if you are driving a Downdraft.

I’m guessing John’s car has been subject to a lot of stop-start-stop-start use on the the Chris Harris Drive film and the Niki Minaj music videos, and I know it runs an open pipe-system non-original exhaust, so I can see plugs the being fouled in that instance and the car running better on higher octane gas.

However, just to dispel any misguided notions from forming that perhaps only Fuelies run good on it, on pump gas my Downdraft runs like Usain Bolt.

Not sure if this has been posted earlier - but here goes. Fast Lane 1990 Track Test at Brands Hatch with 4 period giants. Audio only but good quality so it's quite vivid. Mark Hales was clearly impressed with the Countach :)
