Awesome, I'll be there with my 1/12 F1 Ferrari model. 1965 Lorenzo Bandini Looking forward to see all the usual suspects again.
Should be another fun event. Who you guys like to help me talk John Manoogian into bringing some of his art design sketches to the Expo for a small display? I think it would be a great showcase and the kind of stuff we all love to see.
I've displayed and sold literature there going on 30 years. Yeah, when it comes to a lot of the people, it's a bit like groundhog day. But they are still enthusiastic about all things Ferrari . . . .
Many years ago Tom's model building contest got me restarted again with that hobby, which I hadn't touch since childhood. And I'm glad for it. So now building one of these models has become a nice way to pass some time during the indoor winter months. By now I have also collected more models to build than I have probably years left (and no, I'm fine, it's just that I have now about 40 kits stashed around the house).
Only 1 week to go.... This show is timed perfectly for the beginning of the warmer seasons. Time to start your spring cleaning and get your cars ready to go for the summer!!
Is it earlier this year? I recall it usually conflicted with the start of the Formula One season in Melbourne. (2nd practice & qualifying) Hope to see everyone there. Joe
While the temps may not be warm this Saturday, the prediction now is 40 degrees and mostly sunny with light winds. I hope people still bring out their cars for their spring awakening. See you there!
Still too many unfilled potholes to bring out the 355. From what I've seen from previous years, most guys choose not to bring their ferraris. Two years ago, there were only 2 ferraris on the parking lot and one of them was mine.

Saturday will be an audible. My intention is to have some 12 cylinder therapy on Saturday. Of course, Skilling just predicted 44 and sunny. We shall see.
A few more goodies that will be on display tomorrow at the Art, Model and Literature expo at Continental in Hinsdale: * Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Is that the GTO with Utah plates? If so, I believe that car lives there. It's been there every time I've visited Continental. Not that there's anything wrong with keeping your 288 GTO at a Ferrari dealership. Joe
Another nice show this year. Next year we will hopefully have a few surprises that are in the planning stages. Should make this show very interesting indeed. Stay tuned. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes I think it was down from last year. Strange as they had really nice cars on display this year. We do have a few ideas for next year that might help make it even more popular.
Kudos to all the model builders. Not sure who built the Auto Union model, but it looked good. Thanks to Continental for hosting and Tom, Hugh, and everyone who organized the event.
I would like to add the Ferrari club and Rob along with all who come out every year to support this event. Like I said above we have a few ideas for next year that will bring out even more local and out of town car guys, including a rare display of items(not models)
Great event as always. A few super rare super cars on display and meeting with old friends is always a treat. Thanks Continental for putting this up every year and thanks Tommy for the annual model builders' contest.
