Chassis # 3999, one of the two cars delivered to the " Squadra Mobile " of Italian Police of Roma :

The first one was # 3363 that has been delivered in 1962, seriously damaged in a fatal crash during road tests made with police's drivers. No license plate, returned to Ferrari factory were has been repaired and resold .
The car is still living restored in 2006 so it has not been wrecked, as said by someone.

The second one was # 3999 : delivered to the Police Mobile Squad in 1963 with license plate "POLIZIA 29444", the official driver of that car was the legendary Marshal Spadafora, specially trained in Maranello.
In service till 1968 and sold in auction of Police surplus in 1973, to the dismantler Cappelli.

There are also two other cars dressed with a fake uniform of the Italian Police :
    # 2293 (UXG 774 - GB ) replica and # 2577 (HSV 493 - GB ) that has been a replica till 2004

    Ciao

    Andrea

This is s/n 4105GT, surely? The television car based on the true story.

Here's a video of the scene where that still is from:

That stunning chase (1964) through the narrow streets of Rome, became so famous because finished down the steps of "Trinità dei Monti".
This episode, inspired the movie "Il poliziotto sprint" from which the video probably comes.
In the reality the car of the gangsters was an Alfa Romeo 1900 that was forced to stop because three rims and the oil sump were distroyed .
    I'm sure of the vin # 3999 .

    Ciao

    Andrea

Over the years I've heard so many versions of the story, the most credible one til this day I heard in Italy and the person telling it said that state provided funds for a single car only, so one was what they got.

Hi Andrea, I was not disputing the s/n of the car delivered to the police in real life.

I was stating that the car in this post (https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/145757383/) is s/n 4105 GT. This particular image is a photograph from the filming of that scene. 4105 is a Series III car (hence the fog lights outside the grille in both the photo and the film clip), when in real life of course the squad had a Series II car.

    Hi,
My name is Greg Stokes from Auckland, New Zealand. I am hoping to locate information and photographs regarding the mid fifties era Ferrari Super Squalo F1 cars.

I apologise now as my request is to aid a recreation I am working on for my father Mark. The car we are recreating is a Morris Minor Lo Lite body on a Super Squalo Chassis and powered by a 327 Corvette engine. This car was called the Morrari and raced in New Zealand in the mid sixties for two seasons.

The car was then parted out and then the Ferrari Super Squalo has been restored and is in the USA we believe. Detailed chassis photos and information is required to accurately recreate the chassis for the recreation of one of NZ's most significant motor racing vehicles.

    Many thanks and best regards,

    Greg Stokes

Was it just returning from Sebring? At first glance it appears to be in somewhat derelict condition but I guess that's just grime from track time..
