Just hope that MuratC can find some other info, but doubt that Ferrari will let mobiles free to take pics today...
It mentions this in the video I think. BHP is different than HP in the methodology of the measurement, not the units used. In BHP they run all the ancillaries of the engine (i.e. power steering etc), wheres the HP measurement is taken without these, giving a slightly higher number. Other than that they are the same. Now, regarding CV/PS figures, the methodology is the same as in HP but since metric units are used the end result is slightly different. So an engine rated at 100 BHP will have slightly more power in HP (due to less losses) and slightly more once again in CV (due to different units). Hence the 800 CV 812 Superfast is rated at 789 BHP.
And to be clear (not that I am very interested in a horsepower race) the 720S is 710 bhp or 720 PS (PS, I think, being exactly the same as CV)
I agree. It certainly ticks off enough boxes IMHO to be dubbed a GTO. plus 288 GTo and 488 GTO just seems so nice. I STILL have my fingers crossed for GTO
Macchina Corsa in Italian has Little sense, Corsa Stradale is better, Challenge Stradale is the best, looking at how many featurea it has in common with the 488 Challenge
Already used on the 599 and I doubt they would use it again. 488 Tuono sounds so good but I think Aprilia wouldn't be happy about that. Corsa, as suggested by others, seems likely.
Mugello that I proposed before is a track owned by Ferrari, so that could be an easy option; Fiorano has been used for the 599 relatively recently so I don't think it's likely.
Sorry to burst you bubble but why use their most famous name on a non limited edition car. Senseless.
Literally yes, but it’s not the way actually you’d say it in Italian. Race car = Macchina da corsa / Macchina da gara.. The “da” makes lot of difference! Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Roughly yes, but race car is "macchina da corsa" or "auto da gara", the issue is that it sounds a bit dull and not captivating, especially cause 488 gt3 is a race car, this is not anyway whatever the name, will be super.
What did V12 Speciale do to get himself banned? I didn't think insisting on the GTO name here is an automatic ban!
My bet 730 PS, 780 Nm, 450 kg @ 250 km/h. Dry weight is a mistery, in official site 488 Challenge is claimed at 1340 kg, seems a bit high, 458 challenge evo was 1270 kg, 488 VS is unlikely to be lighter than its challenge counterpart.
well lets just say sometimes I can get a little carried away with F1 since I watch religiously and I don't enjoy it when I get told I have no idea what I'm talking about............but anyways we all have opinions and are entitled to them. I guess I just it too be called the GTO so bad since Ive been following the upcoming 488 VS for well over a year. I do know the odds are against me........least I was bang on about the carbon bier rims tho!!
