488 GTO ?

We need a rear photo and performance numbers soon, this car makes us crazy, wonder what happens with the 812 "TDF"

 

With turbos increasing power is very cheap

 

F1 derived technology extremely resistant to corrosion, high temperatures and adaptable in very thin tube walls in order to get a really light exhaust apparatus

 

Torque and power/cooling optimization is not so easy, especially on turbo equal in displacement

 

As long as it's a V12 Lusso I'd bite their hand off.

It won't be even close to the LaFerrari, at least in a straight line. I also predict a slower Fiorano lap time.

What we haven't been able to determine so far is whether or not the VS has a LF type movable rear spoiler.

 

Can't wait to see the rear and a better shot at the size. What does it say in the background? "New Speciale"

 

Yes, I know of its use in F1, but downstream of turbo, temperatures do not justify Inco and its cost. Ti or regular stainless is probably best, especially Ti, as it's lighter.

Inco would be nice choice for the cast exhaust manifold upstream of turbo, but $$$.

 

you're right, indeed, I think titanium would be the choice, let only a little hope for the inconel trait upstream of turbo, but it's more a dream than a possibility

 

Fiorano lap time in between tdf and LaF, depending on new Sport Cup 2 can be really close to 1.20-1.20.5, not long straights...

 

I predict the oposit just as the scuderia was faster than the Enzo around Fiorino and it wasn't that far behind the Enzo in a straight line until about 100mph.

In a straight line. I think the LaFerrari will be faster but I bet by not much. I think with the lower weight, (predicted high HP/TQ) and improved aero will allow the 488 GTO to corner with much more speed and therefore get on the power much sooner. I predict it will at least match the Laferrari on Fiorano if not beat it. Fiorano is not a huge track so the LaFerraris high HP will not be able to stretch its legs fully.

Just my opinion and we all know about my ** cough cough* GTO opinions

 

Of course I really need to see more. My immediate thought is aesthetically, it doesn't look like a lot of effort went into it. Another 'Ferrari Design'... Why can't they steal the PF feel of design. The engineers are perhaps having too much influence.

My only thought is that if they can't keep their own dealers under control, come customer preview time it should be a spy photo free for all.

Good luck guys as it seems there is no LE requirement to be able to get this car. It is however about as limited as the Speciale.

 

According to the internet the 430 Scuderia was - just - not as fast as the Enzo, with a time of 1'25 compared to 1'24.9.
Ferrari doing what they want with the Fiorano lap times, my prediction is that the 488 VS will have a time between 1'20 and 1'20.5, compared to 1'19.7 for LaFerrari.

Ok im disappointed. Its least they could have done. New bumpers, body kit, higher boost, cf parts, stripped interior, sound deadenig, etc. Very boring graphics. Ho hum.

I wanted a differnt look from 488 equivalent to tdf/f12. That was a big upgrade to almost completely different car. This is not. I would rather have performante with last of breed na engine even if its down 100hp. Especially if have to jump through hoops, pay extra for this one.

probably go with 720 if it wasnt for their weirdo doors since im sure mac will be more comfortable with similar performance
