Tim, but you're the one who said not to expect a TDF-style LE makeover with minimal changes and no new sheet metal, LOL. The last camo car pic before the leak confirmed this and I even wrote WYSIWYG - what you see is what you get.

Having said this, I really like the look of the car. The back will be nice with the blown spoiler and vertical vents at the outer edges of the bumper.

Additionally what's concerning is what has been changed we've essentially seen before on other models.

Indeed. 9 times out of 10 pictures can't do enough justice, let alone blurry shots with far-from-perfect lighting.

Can't wait to see how the lucky owners will spec theirs.

You are right, but as I said, I reserve judgement until I see the rear. Having said that, I cannot explain why I am not reacting more positively to it and just feel we need to see the whole car before forming an opinion. I wasn't expecting such a difference on a non LE car, correct, but it doesn't stop me feeling just a bit warm at present. I, we, need more pictures and I have a feeling the rear may cement my opinion in a much more positive direction and balance what we see of the front.

****, this baby looks much better as expected! Apart from the chunky side mirror arms...
I dare to say this will be definitely the hottest SE. I congratulate Ferrari already now!

I agree with you Tim, and as someone else had previously mentioned, it sort of looks like they gave it a toned down Novitec feel. The angles are much sharper and more aggressive than the Speciale and I'm not quite sure how I feel about that until I can see the whole car.

In the right upper side of the pictuure you can see a "spec...." word.

In all honesty I don''t like what I see. Of course I too think we need to see it in person. I can nitpick the details in the photo to death much to the chagrin of the Fchatters here who love what they see but overall it looks like a bunch of disjointed bits of carbon fiber bolted on to a front bumper to make a messy tuner-like front end.

They called me and said I have an allocation. They had to submit a list of possible customers to Ferrari. Ferrari had their list and I appeared on both when cross referenced.

I think they did a much better job on this than the Speciale. It's so much more extreme, integrated (look at the repetition of the details on the outer edge of the front grille and the rear quartet scoops) and actually uses Challenge car tech with the vent ahead of the front wheel.

Styling wise they just phoned it in with the Speciale with the silly turning vanes at the front, strake at the rear wheels and boring aft end.

Disagree, to my eyes from what we can see so far the Speciale has more bespoke styling features than this car.

My sentiments exactly! Not instantly loving what we can see thus far as was hoping for some more aggressive styling a la TDF.

I like it a lot - very aggressive, which I think is how it should be for an SE.

Agree however that we need a rear view.

Why have Ferrari abandoned bespoke CF mirrors like they had on the CS and Scuderia?

I think he is referring to the function and in that regard the purity of the design more than merely an aesthetic.

Why don't they just call it the 488 Corvette and be done with it... The sharp edges and lower sills are essentially the same. Ferrari has completely lost its identity and uniqueness. The "styling" (specifically, complete LACK thereof) is horrendous. YUCK!! I'm totally out.

LOL Already the corvette comparison. Usually the comparison is made at least with a front engine car. There is no similarity in style or proportion in these two cars in any way whatsoever.

I somewhat agree and after the 458 they’re missing the Pinninfarina touch.
