Let’s wait for more pictures. I think the car looks fine. It is not a massive departure from the GTB but then neither was the 360CS , the Scuderia or the Speciale and they were great machines. On the contrary the TDF was the first SE/LE that was massively different (more than the 599GTO and 575SA), which is also why I think it is a truly unique Ferrari. In order for Ferrari to do this with the 488 it would need to price the car at 350-400k EUR minimum and I don’t think it would sell 2500-4000 cars at those prices. The problem is that the car has stiff competition, as the GT2 RS is very special, the 720 is very competent (and the LT even more so), the Performante is a great drive (although not my cup of tea) and we have now seen extreme -and pricey- beasts like the Senna so we know what “really fast” looks like. It is not an easy market in this segment, but I still think the car will do well and I will have one if they offer...If I were Ferrari I would use it to replace the standard 488 for 2 years, launch another special series convertible and then hit the market with 799 GTOs at 450k each, perhaps with more carbon parts/bodywork, 750bhp, bespoke interior and more track bias like the Senna. That would really be something...please form an orderly queue

“Without him, the Ferrari would not be a Ferrari”, said Sergio Marchionne, CEO of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, referring to Pininfarina.

The new 488 GTO design appears only to be further proof that this statement continues to remain true.

The pics scream no doubt...but the question will be does the engine scream just as loudly?

That's my point. They were standard and unique to the CS. It really helped to differentiate the car from the Modena. Same with the Scuderia. It's a shame they no longer do it.

I'm probably in the minority, but from an aesthetics stand point, I like the standard GTB better.....

    I like how it looks.

Looks is secondary to me anyways. How it drives and performs is much more important to me.

hehe.....I'm liking the 488 GTO looks so far but I'll admit, the front carbon fiber piece reminds me of a mustache or Moustache. That or a mouth guard

That's just a bad Photoshop though I did comment earlier that that black moustache looking bit is too obvious in black.

I love the design, i liked her since at first glance, something that has not happened for the last models introduced. Honestly i think it's just a matter of time for people to appreciate the new design, the same that appened for example with the tdf

I think so too. Would love to see one in grigio scuro or caldo opaco for that perfect stealth look.

I love Ferrari. All this emotion over a blurry picture. So far I like it, but I want to see more.

I'm actually very surprised to say this, but I agree. At least from what I see so far, I'm rather underwhelmed. I love it, but I guess I was expecting a much bigger design statement. I'll reserve total judgement until I see the whole car, but so far, I prefer the standard 488 GTB.

Reason why leaked shots like this one do more damage than good. We don't get to see the whole car, and what we see isn't even clear enough.

For what my humble opinion is worth.. looks wise I’m not too sure .. it doesn’t look very radical I don’t know what I was expecting but it wasn’t this. I hope performance wise and sound wise it’s very different.. and if it’s in the £300k territory.. there’d be a good case for buying a speciale instead for me..

I was expecting and hoping for something far closer to the Challenge or GTE car. Yes it looks like it has plenty going on, but it is not wow , in the way the F12 TDF was, and that had similar design constraints. Maybe the rear treatment will save it, but the bonnet in particular is not doing it for me. I mean it obviously still has to be a 488, much as a TDF was an F12, but the TDF just looks so muscular, special and sufficiently different . If they are really going to ask big big money, it needed to be more. As it is, it is an interesting 488 derivative . Of course when you drive it, then the magic will for sure come out. I like, but was hoping to feel a little more excited.
