You are right. I can tell you all that I have been lucky to have gone through this process before with a new Ferrari, and its almost always the same thing. I've learned to wait to see the real thing, sometimes the pictures are more encouraging/ exciting or sometimes not, but no matter what, even with the most fantastic pictures, you are still trying to evaluate a 3 dimensional object on a 2 dimensional screen or page. I can remember seeing the original leaked pics of the F12tdf and wondering what in the world were they doing with that grill? I thought it looked like some kind of fish mouth and then the weird winglets at the bottom... oh dear... or so I thought. Until I saw better pictures and then in real life. And then I thought the TDF was just such a great alternative to the Berlinetta. More racy, yet still elegant in an aggressive way vs the Berlinetta's more understated sportiness. The same bones underneath... I was (and remain) very impressed with all the F12 variants. So my suggestion for those who are currently disappointed- don't jump out the window just yet! Ferrari knows what they are doing. I was also hoping it would look more like the GTE car but, as it is, I think so far it looks great! Maybe just different from what I was imagining. Probably why its best to try to keep an open mind with such things (easy to say, hard to do, I know). Of course, there is an easy way for Ferrari to fix this- just have us all over for a showing
One memory which sticks in my brain is going to my dealer for the Speciale launch. Everyone, was underwhelmed at the time and despite the dealer offering free Factory collection, free flights, Factory tour etc etc. No one bit. And then the first reviews from behind the wheel and they became unobtainium. I have the feeling we could be going down the same path as whilst my jury is out on aesthetics pending a full reveal, I have no doubt this car will be something special to drive. Very.
Sure you're not meaning bad Photoshop in a despective way, I hope, actually I think it's a very nice effort to show the new features from a slightly different angle. Not much more could be done at this point anyway. I'm kind of liking the overall front treatment though I find the steep climb of the hood/s-duct a bit weird. Once again I think I will end up preferring the no-stripe look. And hell I'm missing some bespoke CF mirrors since the Stradale!
In my opinion, Ferrari suffers these days when it comes to design. They lack emotion and elegance. And even by looking at their latest design, it's quite obvious that the American market is the most important one. Pininfarina is gone, and that can clearly be seen with the 812 and Portofino. But I think we should wait with the real and final judgement until the new design language takes over the current one. When that happens, we will see what the real Flavio Manzoni and his team can do. Apart from that, I think the new 488 VS looks great and it gives me hope for the future.
Image Unavailable, Please Login We have actually already had a glimpse of the back albeit a not great photo. I really think the only difference will be the defuser and the additional vents mentioned.
True. Even here on Fchat people were posting pictures of catfish and comparing the 458 Speciale front to a fish. I'll hold off final judgement until I see it.
It looks like the 488 VS has got a rear grill that's stretched across its rear end, ala Challenge Stradale. And that's not a bad thing, so let's hope I'm not wrong.
Image Unavailable, Please Login I'm not sure about that. I've tried to clean up the pic a bit. The color still looks lighter in the center and darker beside the tail lights. Also the cavallino rapante horse is still close to the bottom of the rear wing.

Not the real deal. Take a closer look at the side skirts and compare it with the spy shot. Not the real deal, but a nice render though.
Also the rear spoiler looks edited. Hope to discover ASAP if I’m right or not Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Wait a minute here. Are you taking the picture in post 2387 and cutting out e.milano and republishing it with your name? You DO have permission right?
look at the rear reflectors from the pic cleaned by crinoid. the reflectors look like screwed on / exposed. like a kit car. or street legalized race car. the guessing game doesn‘t stop.
No problem ! that's a part of the pre-unveiling excitement, Fake news, contradictory informations, leaks by Chalsrad and M.Massini, Ingegnere renderings That's why I love F-Chat
