Ordered a set of Carbon Fiber Shift Paddles from one of our board sponsor Carbonio 2 weeks ago, arrived a week later and finally got a chance to install them today on my F430 Spider.

I had their CF Shift Paddles on my 360 Spider and I was really happy with it so its one of the top things on my upgrade list when I got my F430 Spider 6 months ago.

As expected, I'm completely happy with this upgrade.
Build quality is top notch. Fit is perfect, paddle shifting is much improved.
Takes half an hour to install. Super easy.
And their kit not only comes with new screws but also an installation tool. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Remove the steering wheel shroud (5 phillips screws on the bottom of the shroud), turn the steering wheel to expose the 4 mounting screws for the shifters, remove and replace both sides and you are done. Super easy really.

And if you send a PM to Carbonio, they will give you an FChat member discount plus free shipping.

Note, I have no affiliation to them. Just providing an honest review and sharing info and great products for our pride and joy when I come across them.

I bought the same ones, should have waited for this thread though I paid the regular price. Mine will be here next week. My new steering wheel is still probably a month away.

Did mine last month along with the airbox covers and coolant tank cover. They really do make nice stuff.

just a silly question.... how do they make the paddle shifting better?... I do like the look but from photos..they look big... they don't get in the way being bigger then stock?

Dan, you need a carbon fiber steering wheel to match all the carbon fiber you have now :) Forgot who does them... Basically, I think you move the guts of your steering wheel into a new "carbon fiber" shell.

Its hard to explain how these make shifting process better.......
Better balance of the shifters as it has top and bottom extenders.

But I can attest and so as everyone else that has these once you have them there's no going back.

Not silly. At first when I installed mine I bumped into them all the time... but then you get used to the larger paddles and then realize that you can shift your car with many more degrees of freedom over the stock shifters. Well worth it. I installed mine a couple of years ago and have never regretted it. Of course I kept the OEM shifters should I ever decide to sell my 16M.

I have had these for almost 3 years and I love the function. My only complaint is the "UP" and "DOWN" screen print is a bit sloppy. The lettering for the words is not very crisp.

silly question?,,, how important is thread lock ? Could it actually be worse than nothing (permanently locking)?

    Never a silly question.

Thread lock is applied to screws or bolts that are subject to movement. You dont have to tighten the screws too much and they will be retained in place and not back out on its own due to either movement (like shift paddles) or engine vibration.
