355 Challenge ..is this for real?

I have been offered this car ...they say it is a 355 Challenge.

I am trying to verify what this really is..i am guessing a 355 with Challenge bits etc.

Not really very complete regardless... I noticed the VIN was not correct on the first post but it has since been revised, correct vin indicates a UK car.

I do not show that this car has any racing history in the official records. I believe it simply has some parts added.

The serial number is closest to all the RHD cars that first raced in the Asian / Pacific series with 104xxx as serials but that particular car is not in the grouping.

Sorry for the news. I would ask the seller to show proof of the original ownership on the warranty card to assist with the cars history prior to a purchase as a challenge car or re-creation. Ask them who drove the car in the series. Many things can be cross checked doing your due-diligence.

Well I looked at the original serial number you listed 104800. That is not a challenge car...

But the corrected serial you later listed - 104880 IS a challenge car that raced in the inaugural challenge series in the Pacific in 1996 - the only year this car raced. It only raced ONCE - likely in Malaysia - the driver's home country for 6 total points...

Driver Ismail Bin Ahmad from Malaysia - ran as number 22.

I do not have ny photos of this car...
