Aussie Ferrari Spotters Thread??

Probably a discussion for the aviation section, but since you asked there are a few small issues, sonic boom over populated areas, and cost effective propulsion for systems.
There are a number of engines like the SABRE (Synergistic Air-Breathing Rocket Engine) by Reaction Engines Limited, a hyper sonic precooled hybrid air-breathing rocket engine under development, but its the reliability and type certification takes a huge amount of time and work... sorry you asked

No it’s good stuff mate very interesting thanks scram jet tech is the old phrase for Sabre is that correct it still looks wild but at least they are achieving a controlled burn last time I checked I will read your link (At this rate NZ will make the first ss passenger aircraft and bloody good for them Wes hit the nail on the head with the greens comment

 

They have nothing to do with it, it's all down to economics

I loved the Concorde but it was getting prohibitive to keep it flying and the crash just gave them an excuse to can it for good.

Odd little side story - my codriver had a Polaroid photo of herself with a gorgeous car at the start of the MM in 1986 (from memory) but she couldn't recall the model of the car so we spent a morning identifying it -Maserati 300S which we then continued to investigate its MM history and discovered it was entered that year by KM - she hadn't realized at the time that it was an Aussie car (then)!

 

I remember following a 300 SL Gullwing up the Rose Bay s-bends (known as heartbreak hill on the City to Surf fun run)
Turns out that the car was one of many fantastic cars that KM has owned over the years
I see his name in the Ferrari Register as owning several desirable Ferraris in the past

Can’t believe it’s nearly seven years since I bought this thing.
Don’t take many pics any more, but here’s one of the early ones.

I could say I’m applying a deft touch of oppo as I put on a display for my neighbours, but more likely I forgot which way was straight ahead.
