I presume each dealer has some flexibility in the invitation process; mine does not want to invite anybody else than clients with a factory allocation 100% confirmed; he said it would create too much problems later on; maybe he gets extra cautious after being chased by the lawyer of a client who thought he could get a TDF but was turned down by the factory... Net net I am not invited « yet » to the 20th while my pre-order form for the 488VS has been signed during the previous car show in Geneva March 2017. So, until my allocation is confirmed, don’t know if can attend the 20th and have the privilege to shove 300K into Sergio’s pocket. I hate the power this brand has on me and at the same time admire their business model...

Yep, friend of mine all set and confirmed in Geneva. Invited to the 20th, delivery Q1 2019. With another friend living like me in Geneva but dealing in Lausanne, we are both still waiting....If Ferrari has to vet the list of 2000 clients from 200 dealers, there is probably a bit of backlog in Maranello at the commercial division...so I try not to read too much into the fact that we don’t know yet.
I was told that the dealer and Ferrari both have their lists of approved customers. There is supposed to be a mix between those two regarding who’s actually getting an alloction. So all dealers have already given their lists to Ferrari. Yours should be able to tell you if they themselves put you on it.
The more we read about this whole weird proces the more I get the feeling wants to emphasize the racing aspect of the 488VS. They’re simply not going after the usual suspects for these cars.
I got a slot fixed. Should I get one? I don’t know. However, I am afraid of turning down the offer from Ferrari itself. Maybe I will take it for the sake of them calling me for better cars like 812vs.
I am on the dealer list with the adequate notes of events I participated to, car history, etc...it’s the Ferrari list meeting their list which is not done yet.

So much better than Speciale and with legit aero functionality. This refresh of a nearly 10 year old shape will be, appropriately enough, the optimization of the 458/488 design. Congrats to all who are getting one.

From what i know the factory has not issued final confirmations yet. However clients who did appear on the factory list would have been told they re getting it on the basis that Ferrari has pre selected those people.
