https://www.motor1.com/news/229812/maserati-levante-production-reduced/amp/ Not looking good for maser and Fca. Robb
As I said prior, Maserati and Ferrari should stay on focus - leave the SUV's to BMW, Mercedes and Land Rover
Sorry but firstly I have never heard of that media, secondly it all sounds like fake news, can you provide additional info, twin articles, other sources with similar info? Thanks in advance. MS
To survive SUVs are a must period. This is a union fed story that is naturally spun from their perspective. Maserati is at the beginning of a complete turnover of its model lineup.
Actually no, I hear Harley Davidson is doing badly... Sent from my LG-H700 using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Maybe HD should start producing SUVs.... https://www.marketwatch.com/story/harley-davidson-to-close-us-factory-as-sales-slide-2018-01-30
I posted this in another thread. Sent to me by Enrico. http://europe.autonews.com/article/20180205/ANE/180209879/maserati-levante-production-will-be-reduced-by-60-union-says
http://amp.timeinc.net/thedrive/news/18393/maserati-to-drastically-cut-levante-production?source=dam How many confirmation stories do you need? This is not the first slow down of production at maser... Robb
When different news outlets use the same single source for a story doesn’t mean it is multi source confirmation. In this case it is a workers Union representative that doesn’t appear to be happy with what appears to be a new proposed pay structure. Questions that should be asked before talking this report as accurate due to poor sales, what is the current status of the contract between the union and Maserati? Is it up for renewal? Is this a negotiation ploy?
Feel free to believe whatever you need. This happened recently to Maserati with a slowdown and layoffs so its NOT like people are saying - "That can't be possible!"... in response to the story. Of course it is likely, knowing their history. Its obvious that they have some internal issues with their business plan - I don't see it as failure to sell any cars... but that their projections were not realistic. I wish them success and appreciate their cars - been to the factory - so I'm not looking to slam them. What, you need a statement from Serg, the WSJ, and Buffet? Robb
Another story onbtryingvto get back on track. https://carbuzz.com/news/here-s-a-first-look-at-the-ferrari-powered-maserati-levante-gts Robb

Again another news outlet sighting the same single source, the workers union. While Maserati may be conducting some type of reduction in production, every sited news outlet is quoting the same source and a source with a bias at that. That is not a confirmation.
I have NEVER seen a Levante on the street --- ever. I see a lot of Ghibli's though. I sat in one at a dealership but never saw one driving around To me, sales do look soft BUT Levante sales aren't a whole lot more different than the Ghibli. Image Unavailable, Please Login
The only thing I can think of is that FCA thought they would sell more SUV's than Ghibli's in their estimates. For sure I have seen a large number of Ghibli's running around.
Looking at 2016 - 2017 US Ghibli sales, they fell whilst Levante sales rose. Levante sales have been eating into Ghibli sales. With the Levante V8 GTS on sale later this year sales will increase. Ghibli 2016 - 7100 (csb) 2017 - 5633 Levante 2016 Aug - Dec - 1917 2017 - 5485
I see lots of around here but Maserati is still a low volume brand. They also aren't all that different looking like the Gran Turismo is so they're harder to spot. In black or white they're kind of blah looking. It's pretty good in that electric blue color with a saddle interior.
